Piers Morgan says that his congratulatory speech for Donald Trump was removed from Instagram

BBC anchor Piers Morgan has claimed that Instagram removed his congratulatory speech following Donald Trump’s presidential win on the grounds of it being considered “hate speech.”

On November 5, Donald Trump was was announced as the 47th president of the United States after a tight race against Vice President Kamala Harris. After the final election results emerged, the famous 59-year-old media personality spared no time as he took to Instagram to share a message of support for the next president.

But less than 24 hours after Piers shared his celebratory post, it was allegedly taken down by the social media platform. In a screenshot Piers posted on X, formerly Twitter, he shared a series of screenshots with proof as he wrote: “This is hilarious..@instagram has taken down my congratulations pic/msg to @realDonaldTrump on the grounds that it’s ’hate speech.’”

Under the “Why this happened” section of the screenshot the notification read: “It looks like you shared or sent something that attacks a person, a group of people, based on who they are.”

In the same image, Piers original caption was also shared which read: “Congratulations to Donald Trump on the greatest comeback in political history. A testament to your resilience, strength & never-give-up mentality as your enemies tried to kill you, jail you & brand you the new Hiltler. Good luck on your second term. Unity > revenge!”

This was just one of many times Piers has shared in regards to Trump’s presidential campaign including a strong message of support head of the final election results. During an apperance on BBC News Tuesday evening, Piers spoke very highly of Trump as he discussed his platform and the major issues he promises to tackle if elected president – namely immigration and the economy.

Piers went on to compare Trump’s possible comeback to that of legendary golfer Tiger Woods. He boldly said: “If he wins then you could argue it’s the greatest comeback in the history of politics it’ll be like Tiger Woods when he won the Masters again when everyone thought he was finished.”
