Cardi B says that her next album will be “messy.” In a recent interview with Billboard at the Revolve Festival, the rapper gave some new details about her highly anticipated forthcoming project that the world’s been waiting on for quite some time.

“I almost want to say the name because that’s what it’ll be about,” said Cardi before providing a few more juicy bits of information. “I feel like my album is messy. She’s a messy queen.”

Cardi revealed a bit more about the types of songs that will be on the LP.

“I feel like it’s unexpected and I feel like it’s something that’s not really out right now,” she said. “It’s gonna be things that people do expect me and a lot of things people don’t expect from me.”

“I’ve been heartbroken and then I’m loving again,” she continued, referring to the experiences shaping the project, before explaining that there’ll be some music to fight to, too.

Cardi’s new details about her LP come nearly a year after she announced she wouldn’t be dropping an album in 2024.

She broke the news last May after a fan posted a message on X poking fun at her past promises of dropping her frequently-delayed album. He wrote, “‘I’m so excited to put out new music.’ ‘I can’t wait to drop my album.’ ‘Wait until I drop this song.’ ‘Album coming soon,'” followed by a picture of her practically rolling her eyes.

After a lengthy back and forth with fans, Cardi revealed she wouldn’t be dropping after they upset her. “Anyway NO album this year I don’t care I’m relaxing this year ..Dropping these features I already committed to and traveling and enjoying my summer,” she wrote.

Fans have been on the lookout for Cardi’s sophomore LP ever since she released her debut album Invasion of Privacy in 2018. The LP featured her hit singles “Bodak Yellow” and “I Like It” with J Balvin and Bad Bunny.
