Bruce Springsteen, better known as ‘The Boss,’ is a prolific songwriter and American rock ‘n roll icon. He’s a rockstar that represents the working man and even gets political now and again. The New Jersey native puts on quite the performance. Some of his early shows with the E Street Band ran over four hours long!
Lucky for us, Springsteen also has a big heart. One of his biggest fans, 19-year-old Matthew Aucoin, just had his dreams come true when Springsteen invited him onstage for a duet. From Spring, TX, Aucoin has been a fan of The Boss since he was just a kid: “My dad got me into his music when I was younger and now I’m the one dragging him to shows!”
The Texas A&M student and his dad traveled all the way to Philadelphia to catch Springsteen’s show without a clue of what was about to go down. Springsteen invited the college kid up on stage to sing his hit “No Surrender,” and the moment was just epic.
“The fact that I was standing right next to Springsteen, trading off verses with him, singing his song from 1984 was just an unforgettable experience,” Aucoin said. “When watching the video, it looked like he was having more fun than I was, which says a lot about the kind of guy he is.”When it was all over, Aucoin walked over to thank Springsteen for the opportunity to which The Boss replied, “Dude, that was so good. You killed it!”Check out the awesome moment in the video below!
