Unseen footage pointed out Benny Blanco’s ‘nasty’ habit with Selena Gomez at Golden Globes making fans horrified
Selena Gomez fans were less than thrilled on Sunday evening when they noticed her fiancé, Benny Blanco, displaying a ‘nasty’ habit during their appearance at the 2025 Golden Globe Awards.
The 32-year-old actress received praise for her gracious reaction after losing an award to her “Emilia Pérez” co-star Zoe Saldana. Throughout the ceremony, she snuggled up to 36-year-old Benny, and the couple appeared more in love than ever.
However, they found themselves in the spotlight when host Nikki Glaser made a somewhat awkward joke about their relationship during her opening monologue at The Beverly Hilton.
“Selena Gomez is here, double nominee tonight for ‘Emilia Pérez’ and ‘Only Murders,’ and she’s here with her new fiancé, Benny Blanco,” Nikki, 40, announced.
As the audience applauded, the comedian added, “And Benny Blanco is here because of the genie who granted him that wish—man, lucky guy!”
Selena laughed nervously as Benny kissed her shoulder, and Nikki then declared, “I love you,” before moving on with her speech.
However, attentive viewers quickly noticed something specific about Benny and took to X (formerly Twitter) to share their thoughts.

After the ceremony, Selena and Benny headed to a Golden Globes afterparty at Spago in Beverly Hills. Continuing the festivities, they were joined by Nicole Avant and Netflix Co-CEO Ted Sarandos.
Selena switched into a second outfit for the evening, donning an oversized satin blazer over a black bandeau dress. She added a splash of color with bold red lipstick and styled her hair in elegant Old Hollywood waves.
Earlier in the night, she had looked radiant in a baby blue Prada gown featuring an off-the-shoulder neckline and a flowing Cinderella-style skirt.
