He has left the building: Elvis Presley’s Palm Springs, California, home where he once lived and then honeymooned with bride Priscilla in the Sixties, has gone back on the market more than a year after it failed to sell (the couple are pictured here with daughter Lisa Marie in 1970)
While that is not exactly the most affordable Elvis souvenir, the home was originally listed $9.5m at the start of last year.
Cue a few months and a change of agents – seems Million Dollar Listing’s Josh Altman could not find anyone to fall in Burning Love with the property – for more than $3m less you can buy the four bedroom, five bathroom liveable museum.
Currently dubbed the Honeymoon Hideaway and used as a tourist destination to celebrate all that is Elvis, the property was originally rented by the King in 1966 so he could be closer to his manager Colonel Tom Parker.

Elvis was set to wed his young bride Priscilla at the home the following year but reportedly a gossip columnist also lived nearby and got wind of the nuptials so the pair were whisked off to Vegas.
They returned to the home, which sits at the base of the San Jacinto Mountains, to honeymoon and as the home’s website currently boasts with a wink, wink – Lisa Marie was born nine months later.
According to legend, Elvis carried his bride over the threshold while serenading her with the Hawaiian Wedding Song from his film Blue Hawaii.
The property was originally built in 1960 by famed Mid-Century builder Robert Alexander – who with his father shaped Palm Springs modern architecture landscape – for his wife Helene.

Heartbreak Hotel: The property was originally built in 1960 by famed Mid-Century builder Robert Alexander for his wife Helene (seen here an an undated photograph) but five years later they were killed in a plane crash
There is some debate to which architect he worked with, but the famed William Krisel believed to be responsible.
At the time it was seen as so cutting edge that the home was dubbed ‘The House Of Tomorrow’.
Sadly, the couple did not get to enjoy the home for very long as tragically they were killed along with four other people including Robert’s father and mother when their private plane crashed on their way to Los Angeles.

If living in the masterpiece is not your cup of tea, like the current owner, the home can continue to be used as a tourist attraction which is also often rented out for weddings and special events.
While Elvis’ most famous home is, of course, Graceland in Memphis, Tennessee, Elvis always had a soft spot for the West Coast and Palm Springs in particular.
The star eventually purchased another home in the area which was dubbed Graceland West and, four years after his 1977 death, fellow iconic singer Frankie Valli bought the home.
After changing hands a few times the property’s owner fell on hard times. The house, which did not have the same architectural significance or style, became bank owned and was put on the market last year for $3.95 but failed to find buyers until it was scooped up in November for just $1.5 million.
