The actress said her ‘Freakier Friday’ costar Jamie Lee Curtis “brings so much joy to our set”
Lindsay Lohan is wishing everyone a happy Monday as she nears the end of Freakier Friday.
The star of the upcoming Disney sequel posted a pair of selfies on Instagram Aug. 19, commemorating her final week of filming, calling the experience “such a great time.”
“Happy Monday! It’s our last Monday on the set of #freakierfriday and my heart is so full,” wrote Lohan, 38, in her caption. “The wonderful cast, crew and everyone from @disneystudios have invested so much time and love into making this movie!”
Shouting out members of her team and director Nisha Ganatra, Lohan had special praise for her “dear friend” and costar Jamie Lee Curtis, “who brings so much joy to our set every day and she has made this all the more special!”
Curtis, 65, reunites with Lohan in the long-awaited sequel to 2003’s Freaky Friday, with the two reprising their roles as Anna and Tess Coleman. The sequel will also bring back cast members Mark Harmon, Chad Michael Murray, Christina Vidal Mitchell, Haley Hudson, Lucille Soong, Stephen Tobolowsky and Rosalind Chao.
“I’m so grateful to have made this film, a story of family, mothers and their children and a film filled with love, laughter and a ton of heart,” continued Lohan in her post. “Have a great week everyone 🤗”
The Mean Girls star’s post follows Curtis sharing an Instagram post of her own on Aug. 16 celebrating her “ultimate movie daughter,” as she called Lohan, “without whom we could not have made this movie.”
Of wrapping the movie, the Oscar winner called it, “The last FRIDAY of this FREAKIEST FRIDAY or shall I call it CRYDAY.”
At Disney’s D23 fan event in Anaheim, Calif. on Aug. 9, Lohan and Curtis took a break from filming to reveal the movie’s title in front of fans onstage.
Speaking with PEOPLE, Lohan quipped that she’d Freaky Friday-style trade places with her 1-year-old son Luai Shammas, whom she shares with husband Bader Shammas. Curtis, meanwhile, said she wanted to be WNBA star Caitlin Clark for a day.
Freakier Friday is in theaters summer 2025.
