Can’t find fresh fruit at the grocery store? Maybe look for ‘fregh’ fruit
Last month, Khushi Talluru of Colorado Springs froze at the worst possible moment and offered the wrong letter to answer a seemingly easy puzzle.
After correctly guessing the letter H at the end of the word, host Pat Sajak urged the teen to ‘solve it or spin, but do something quickly.’
The Pine Creek High School student seemed hesitant and bought herself a few extra seconds by spinning the wheel.
‘What letter for you,’ Sajak prompted.
‘I’ll go with a…G?’ she , sounding like she was already questioning her own answer.

Seconds later, a female audience member can be heard yelling: ‘What!’
Khushi’s wrong answer cost her the bonus round. Her fellow contestant Juliana correctly solved the puzzle after the epic fail.
Sajak, perhaps sensing the backlash Khushi was about to face, immediately went to defend the teen, saying: ‘You know, when that happens when you’re sitting at home, you’re thinking: “How in the world?” but sometimes it’s just a word that doesn’t want to come into focus.’
‘It did for you,’ he said to Juliana.
The show’s fans quickly took to Twitter to both defend and make light of the moment.

‘What’s Fregh?’ a fan wrote.
‘The exact moment when Khushi questioned her own choice…’ Cole Write wrote with a screenshot of Khushi’s confused face moments after she blurted out G.
‘I’ll remember this day next time I go to the grocery store and I cross “FREGH TROPICAL FRUIT” off my grocery list,’ John Brighenti wrote.
Steven Dillard also made a produce joke, writing: ‘I just went to the grocery store and couldn’t find the fregh fruit cooler.’
I don’t know what I want more: A self-portrait or a potato to myself?
Lolita McAuley, of Sacramento, California, became an internet sensation after she incorrectly said ‘self-potato’ instead of ‘self-portrait’
The teacher and mother-of-five laughed at her own mishap as her fellow contestant answered the puzzle correctly
Lolita McAuley, of Sacramento, California, became an internet sensation after she incorrectly solved a puzzle in 2009.
During the speed round, in which letters appear randomly in the puzzle until someone solves it, Lolita was the first to buzz in. The puzzle read: S_LF-PO_T_ _ _T.
‘Self-potato,’ she said as a grimace passed over her face, followed immediately by: ‘Sorry.’
The teacher and mother-of-five laughed at her own mishap as her fellow contestant answered the puzzle correctly.
Amid laughter from the rest of the panel Lolita asked the host: ‘Can I walk off now?’
‘No, no,’ Sajak said. ‘I just wanted to confirm, you did say self-potato?’
When she confirmed, he comforted her by saying it wasn’t even in the top 10 mishaps he had seen on the show.
‘Who won there? You did,’ Sajak said as he righted himself. ‘I was so distracted by a side dish.’
Sajak wasn’t the only one shocked by Lolita’s answer as many others couldn’t stop laughing at the blunder.
‘Lolita made herself an icon with that line,’ Dale Wasson wrote on YouTube.
‘Give her a break, she’s obviously self-tot,’ another, Stephan Nance, joked.
Many had a good laugh at Lolita’s mistake and said she was ‘self-tot’
Another wrote: ‘I don’t know why I can’t stop laughing at this no matter how many times I see it.’
Lolita explained the moment to The New York Times, saying she got a little bit of stage fright and didn’t actually believe Sajak would call on her.
‘The first toss-up round they had, I knew it and pushed my buzzer, but Pat didn’t call on me. OK, no big deal. So the next one, I remember pushing the buzzer but not really believing that he would call on me,’ she said.
‘And once he called on me, my mind went completely blank. Because I did know the puzzle. Self-portrait. And when he called me, my mind went completely blank. And I looked up there, and I said, “Self-potato.” Even after it fell out of my mouth, I wish I could just go and hide.’
Despite her mistake, she said she would still show the clip to her students at the time to get them to ‘laugh really hard.’
‘They’re really going to know their teacher’s human.’
It’s still in Europe right, that’s close enough…A husband struggled to correctly locate Venice and instead claimed Paris was a country
All David and Keri had to do to win a trip to the stunning Italian city was read off the puzzle from the board: Gondola Ride Through Venice, but when asked what country the city resides in, David confidently said: ‘Paris’
All David and Keri had to do to win a trip to the stunning Italian city was read off the puzzle from the board: Gondola Ride Through Venice.
The couple excitedly secured their trip, but not before making a bit of a fool of themselves when Sajak threw them a pop quiz.
‘Let’s check your geography knowledge,’ Sajak said during the 2016 episode. ‘What country do you think we’re sending you to?’
David confidently answered: ‘Paris.’
His response garnered a large ‘ohhh’ from the audience, but nothing beat his wife’s expression as she nervously scratched her face after his answer.
‘France,’ he followed up, to which his wife nervously smiled.
Many felt Keri’s pain as her husband continuously answered the country incorrectly
‘Do we still get it,’ Keri asked Sajak as her husband laughed.
‘Apparently, you know your husband well,’ he joked before confirming they would get a trip to Italy.
One YouTube commenter loved Keri’s reaction, claiming they ‘died’ after seeing it.
A few others worried about the education system in the US, writing: ‘Great to see the educational system is on point! #franceisvenice.’
One wrote: ‘I suck at geography myself, but that was a new type of fail.’
The Achilles’ heel of a university student who was left in a spin
In the worst of the blunders, Julian got tongue-tied and incorrectly said ‘dicespin’ instead of ‘decision’
Julian had several mishaps, including mispronouncing Achilles
Julian had several mishaps, including mispronouncing Achilles, the warrior of Greek mythology.
Despite the fact that the puzzle had all its letters and only needed to be read out, poor Julian pronounced the mythology figure’s name as ‘H-chill-les,’ losing him the prize money.
In another puzzle, under the person category, Julian once again incorrectly guessed that ‘The World’s Fastest _a_’ had the letter C in it. Unfortunately for him, his fellow contestant Shelby correctly solved the puzzle as The World’s Fastest Man.
In the worst of the blunders, Julian got tongue-tied and incorrectly said ‘dicespin’ instead of ‘decision.’
When he was told all the vowels were taken, he confidently told Sajak he wanted to ‘solve’ the puzzle.
Many fans couldn’t get over Julian’s dicespin slip, with one calling it an ‘epic failure’
As he looked at the puzzle on the board – which read _N-THE-SP_T D_C_S_ _N – he confidently answered: ‘On-the-spot dicespin.’
After saying his answer, he quickly looked to his fellow contestants before a look of shock crossed his face.
Despite all that, Julian did go on to the final round and won a little money.
Viewers are still laughing over the mistakes, with one writing on YouTube: ‘Shelby’s enthusiasm for answering correctly after his failures was unbridled.’
Another wrote: ‘We were laughing so hard, we were crying. This truly was an epic failure.’
A third wrote: ‘This is just, I mean, I can’t even – dicespin…’
Three veterans make a rookie error
They might have been the most watched morning show, but three military veterans struggled to get Regis Philbin and Kelly Ripa’s names right
Three contestants, all military veterans, struggled to get Regis Philbin and Kelly Ripa’s names right in 2010, even though the pair hosted the most watched morning show at the time.
The puzzle read REG_S P_ _L_ _N & _ELL_ R_P_,
The first man confidently answered: Regis Philburn and Kelly Ripa.’
‘No, I’m sorry, we can’t accept that,’ Sajak told the contestant.
The second contestant was next and correctly guessed a letter Y before going bankrupt.
The third contestant bought an I and A before incorrectly guessing: ‘Regis Philmin and Kelly Ripa (pronouncing it Reepa).
The hard names gave most viewers a good laugh
The first man chose to spin three times to earn more money and complete the puzzle, but unfortunately mispronounced Ripa’s last name before one of the other contestants finally solved it.
‘That was excruciating!’ one YouTube commenter wrote.
Another said: ‘I commend them for their service, but that was hilarious.’
