Like the Chicago Bears two years ago, the Tennessee Titans are reportedly seeking an astronomical return in exchange for the first overall pick of the 2025 NFL Draft.
The Titans secured the No. 1 pick in 2024 after finishing with a dismal 3-14 record, the franchise’s worst finish since the 2014 group that went 2-14. Most NFL mock drafts have Tennessee using the top selection on Miami quarterback Cam Ward, and it appears it’ll cost another team an arm and a leg to obtain the pick.
During an appearance on “102.5 The Game” in Nashville, Charles Robinson of Yahoo Sports reported that the Tennessee Titans want at least three first-round draft selections “or something of that value” for the top pick.
Ahead of the 2023 NFL Draft, the Bears traded the No. 1 pick to the Carolina Panthers in exchange for the No. 9 and No. 61 picks of that year, star wide receiver D.J. Moore, a 2024 first-round pick and a 2025 second-rounder.
Carolina used the No. 1 pick of 2023 on Alabama quarterback Bryce Young. Of course, the Bears were the big winners here after the Panthers finished as football’s worst team in 2023, allowing Chicago to use the top selection of 2024 on prized USC quarterback Caleb Williams.
Unlike most years, it’s unclear what will happen with the top pick in 2025. They could trade it for a giant haul, or use it on a QB like Ward or Colorado’s Shedeur Sanders. Or may they take one of the consensus top-two prospects in Penn State’s Abdul Carter of Colorado’s Travis Hunter?
Tennessee Titans Haven’t Picked First Overall Since 1978

The last time the Titans organization picked first overall? Way back when in 1978. when the franchise was based in Houston.
The Oilers used that selection on Texas running back Earl Campbell, who carved out a Hall of Fame career that included three Offensive Player of the Year awards, NFL MVP honors and three rushing titles.
