Conor McGregor has revealed he is interested in purchasing two football clubs.
Earlier this week McGregor shared some photos on Instagram congratulating his cousin Warren Davis on winning the FAI Cup with Drogheda United.
Drogheda had won the cup in November, beating Derry City 2-0 in the final to bag their first major trophy since they won the League of Ireland in 2007.
Following this he took to X formerly Twitter to reveal his interest in buying two clubs from Ireland in a now-deleted post.
He had posted: âHow much is it to buy a League of Ireland team?â
âI might buy two.â

One club has responded and made it clear in no uncertain terms that they donât want anything to do with the UFC star.
âA social media post has been brought to our attention today regarding the FAI Cup,â the statement on the clubâs official website read.
âThose pictured are a close relation to one of our first team players, who like all the other players had custody of the cup to celebrate with their families at different intervals.
âDrogheda United do not associate ourselves with the individual who made the social media post in any way, or with any unauthorised brands mentioned.â
McGregor hasnât fought in the Octagon since 2021 where he suffered a broken leg in his trilogy fight with Dustin Poirier.
Since then controversy has followed him, most recently he was found liable in his civil case against Nikita Hand.
A jury found that the Irish mixed martial arts fighter assaulted Ms Hand in a Dublin hotel in December 2018 and he has been ordered to pay her more than âŹ248,000 (ÂŁ206,000) in damages.
