Musicians all over the world are doing their bit amid the global pandemic to keep their fans entertained – and many are working together with other artists to bring out some beautiful collaborations which may not have happened in normal circumstances
The latest musical team-up has come from former One Direction star Niall Horan, James Arthur, Olly Murs with Danny Jones and Tom Fletcher from McFly, performing ‘Shine A Light’ from the band’s 2010 album ‘Above The Noise’ for all key workers.
Many 1D fans will know that their friendship with McFly goes back years, after McFly were drafted in to co-write on their first three albums; ‘Up All Night’, ‘Take Me Home’ and ‘Midnight Memories’, and Olly and Danny became friends after playing football for Soccer Aid together.
The five musicians came together to perform the song in isolation from their respective homes, with James, Niall and Danny accompanying on guitar and Tom joining on piano – and the results are incredible!
Since being posted on Saturday, the video has already had nearly 700,000 views on Facebook, with many fans commenting how lovely the performance was. One wrote, ‘Absolutely brilliant loved you all singing together! ❤’ as another added, ‘This is my favourite of all the celebrity covers that are around at the moment 😍I hope you boys get to do this live all together when lockdown ends 😁a great collaboration.’
Of the video, James wrote on Twitter, ‘ A little rendition of a well known @mcflymusic song to say thanks to all the key workers and hopefully bring a bit of light to your lockdown situation. Here’s Shine A Light with @ollymurs @NiallOfficial , and @TomFletcher & @itsDannyJones who put the whole thing together.’
Niall added, ‘The boys @itsDannyJones , @tomfletcher , @ollymurs , @jamesarthur23 and i came together to shine a little light on all of the key workers during these dark times . hope you enjoy x.’
