‘Queer Eye’ star Jonathan Van Ness debuts 66-pound weight loss in before-and-after photos

Queer Eye for the Skinny Guy.

“Queer Eye” star Jonathan Van Ness recently posted before-and-after photos to show off his drastic weight loss.

Van Ness, 37, took to his Instagram Story Sunday to share a shirtless image of himself looking heavier, which he placed next to a current shirtless picture of himself with a more slender frame.

The words “Lost 66 pounds!” were written across the screen and accompanied by the MyFitnessPal logo, seemingly implying that the reality personality has been using the app to track his progress.

Early last month, Van Ness made a “confession” to his TikTok followers.

“Yes, I am on a GLP-1, or a weight-loss medication,” he admitted in the selfie-style video.

GLP-1 stands for glucagon-like peptide-1. It’s a hormone produced in the intestines that helps regulate blood sugar levels and appetite.

The drug was created to treat type 2 diabetes but has been used in recent years — especially by celebrities — to shed pounds.

Van Ness noted he’s “gained and lost weight several times very publicly” but that he “needed a little bit of extra help” this time around.

He attributed his most recent weight gain to “everything [he’s] been through publicly and privately in the last couple years” but did not elaborate.

Notably, the hairstylist revealed his HIV-positive diagnosis in his September 2021 memoir and was accused in a May 2024 exposé of being a “monster” with “rage issues” on the set of “Queer Eye” — a claim which he denied.

“I had gained quite a bit of weight, wasn’t feeling good and the most important thing was [that] my binge-eating disorder was out of control,” Van Ness — who has struggled with addiction issues in the past — explained in his TikTok.

“I was consistently making decisions that I regretted with compulsive eating, with binging, that just left me feeling really not good, depressed and out of control.”

After talking to his doctor, he said he decided to try an injectable GLP-1 in September 2024 since he had previously “tried a pill version” that “did not work” for him.

After the first shot, the activist “immediately felt better.”

“For the first time in my life,” he shared, “I had control over my food intake.”

Van Ness gushed that the medication has “helped [him] so massively.”
