Blake Shelton, Kelly Clarkson, Niall Horan, and Chance the Rapper joined forces for an unforgettable performance of “Can’t Take My Eyes Off You,” leaving fans moved to tears as this special collaboration marked a significant milestone in Blake Shelton’s career as a coach, making the moment even more emotional.

Ahead of The Voice season 23 premiere, the coaches, Blake Shelton, Kelly Clarkson, Niall Horan, and Chance the Rapper, have come together to sing “Can’t Take My Eyes Off You.” The Voice season 23 is Blake’s final stint as a coach on the reality singing competition show. Kelly returns for her ninth season after taking last season off, while newcomers Niall and Chance join as coaches for the first time. John Legend, Gwen Stefani, and Camila Cabello have exited the panel for season 23 after coaching during season 22. Carson Daly returns as host.

In a video shared by The Voice on YouTube, The Voice season 23 coaches sing, “Can’t Take My Eyes Off You.”

The classic song was first released by Frankie Valli in 1967. It had a resurgence in 1998 when Lauryn Hill recorded it. The Voice coaches’ version begins with the four mentors seated in a circle. Chance takes the first lines of the verse, followed by Niall, Blake, and Kelly. They continue to take turns singing alternating lines of the song, until they come together in harmony towards the end of the tune. They smile and point at each other throughout the song, showing their fondness for each other.

The Voice Season 23 Coaches Have Great Chemistry

At the end of the song, The Voice’s Kelly cheers, “Hey!” Niall says, “It’s so nice to have you around my house.” Then Chance accidentally drops his microphone, and all four coaches burst into laughter. Chance then jokes, “Teach me your ways, Blake.” The comments section of the video was filled with posts from delighted fans who thought that the four coaches sounded beautiful together. Many of them marveled at Chance’s voice because, although they knew he was a rapper, they did not know that he could sing. YouTube user Sing Torres wrote, “Chance for me is the shocker. I thought he was only a rapper but his voice is so heavenly. That rasp is what I like.”

The Voice mentors are known for singing together in fantastic collaborations. Last season, Blake, Gwen, John, and Camila recorded a video singing Camila’s hit song “Havana” ahead of the season. It is a wonderful way for the coaches to showcase their own talents, while building relationships with each other. The Voice season 23 coaches’ version of “Can’t Take My Eyes Off You” highlights each of the mentors’ incredible singing talent, proving why each of them is qualified to guide singers through the competition.

The Voice season 23 coaches have already shown through commercials for the show that they get along well, but this video shows a whole new camaraderie. They really seemed to enjoy singing and spending time together. Their laughter at the end of the video indicates that The Voice fans are in for a whole lot of fun during Blake’s final season with the show. It seems that he is ready to pass the torch to the next generation of The Voice coaches.
