Kane Brown created an unforgettable memory for a military family during his recent concert in Houston, TX.

For years, the ACM Entertainer of the Year nominee has used his platform to show his support for members of the military. He has even made it a tradition to dedicate each performance of his song “Homesick” to anybody in the crowd who has served or is active duty in the military. The tune penned by Brown with Matthew McGinn, Brock Berryhill and Taylor Phillips was originally inspired by his time on the road, and the pain he felt from having to be away from his wife, Katelyn Brown. However, it has since taken on a whole new meaning that correlates with those serving who are missing their loved ones back home.

Brown Gives Eight-Year-Old Fan And Her Mother The Surprise Of A Lifetime

When it came time in his recent show to deliver this incredibly meaningful ballad, Brown did something a bit different as he brought up a mother and her 8-year-old daughter up on stage. He explained to the crowd that these two fans were selected to join him on stage because he learned the woman’s husband, Archie, had bought their tickets to the show intending to go with them, but unfortunately was called to his duties in the U.S. Army.

Even though the husband and father could not be with them in person, he still made sure to let his family know he’s thinking of them by sending over a video message. As the mom and daughter turned to the big screen behind them, they suddenly saw Archie appear in his uniform.

First, he spoke softly to his little girl saying, “I bet you’re having a wonderful time at the Kane Brown concert and daddy wishes he could be there with you. But know that I’ll be home, we will be together again.”

“I Can’t Wait To Be Back Together Again”

Then he shifted his focus to his “wonderful wife” and thanked her for sharing the concert experience with their daughter even though he could not join them in making the lasting memories.

“Just know that I’m homesick and I can’t wait to be back together again and pick up where we left off. I love you both so much, enjoy the show,” he concluded.

The young girl, who dubbed Kane Brown to be her “favorite” artist, was clearly overcome with emotion after seeing her father’s face appear behind her. Brown opened his arms to the mother and daughter and took a moment to share a hug and a few words that could not be heard over the speakers.

The kind act was caught on video by a fan in the front of the crowd and later shared to TikTok. Users couldn’t help but comment words of praise and appreciation for Brown’s generosity towards this family.

“Amazing! 🩷🩷🩷🩷,” one fan wrote while another said, “He is so incredible 😭😭😭❤️.”

Brown’s Connection To The Military

Brown has always had a special place in his heart for veterans and the military. Not only does he have friends and family members who have served, but he too tried to join the Army when he was 18, but “got denied” because of his tattoos. While this may not have been the path he had initially planned for himself, Brown now gets to continue his mission through music.

“Now I get to sing for veterans,” he told Country Now while hanging in the Crown Lounge backstage at his recent show in Chicago, IL. “They come to my shows and I just tell them how much I love ‘em and we always get a great crowd reaction whenever we bring it up,” he explains. “So it’s always been a special place in my heart for veterans because they go and fight for our country and leave their families, which has got to be the hardest thing.”

The “Thank God” singer’s most recent philanthropic effort involves partnering with Crown Royal as the official whisky of his massive In The Air Tour.

As part of this exclusive partnership, Crown Royal and Brown announced the “That Deserves a Crown with Kane Brown” contest. This allowed those 21+ to nominate a veteran for a chance to win a once-in-a-lifetime concert experience at the final show of Brown’s In The Air Tour, taking place in Arlington, Texas on September 14, 2024.

The window of time to submit a nomination has now closed, but for every valid nomination that was entered, Crown Royal pledged to donate $1 to CreatiVets, a nonprofit that helps wounded veterans heal through music and the arts.
