Producing a magical career in music, Foreigner spent decades touring the world with songs like “Juke Box Hero” and “Waiting for a Girl Like You.” Selling over 80 million albums throughout their time on stage, the members of Foreigner crossed a historic milestone recently when the band gained entry into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. While not all members were on hand to celebrate the moment, Lou Gramm not only attended the ceremony but found himself performing alongside Kelly Clarkson.

Still somewhat shocked over Foreigner being inducted into the Rock Hall, Gramm spoke with 13WHAM ABC Rochester about the night. While Gramm, Al Greenwood, and Rick Wills were on hand, Mick Jones and Dennis Elliott skipped the event. As for Gramm, he explained what it was like at the Rock Hall, revealing, “It was awesome. I hadn’t been to the Rock Hall Of Fame in a while. And the place looks awesome. There’s a FOREIGNER display there, which is very cool. And we brought the jukebox from our tours back in the ’80s and ’90s, the big inflatable jukebox, so that looks awesome too.”
Lou Gramm Gushes Over Kelly Clarkson
Seeing Foreigner’s legacy honored at the Rock Hall, Gramm found the entire ceremony memorable. “The show was one highlight after another, and the other people being inducted were very, very special too. It was just a night of celebration, complete with some, some live performances too. I had the opportunity to sing ‘I Want To Know What Love Is’ with Kelly Clarkson. And boy does she have a voice.”
Speaking about performing with Clarkson, Gramm had nothing but praise for the singer. “I enjoyed it incredibly so. She very gracious, and during rehearsals we had a lot of laughs together and worked out some different parts and such. And the night of the big performance went very smoothly. And she’s really got an incredible voice and she’s just a very awesome person.”
Gramm wasn’t the only one thrilled about Foreigner landing in the Rock Hall as fans expressed their love for the band. “I’m so happy to see Foreigner get in while the main members are still with us. Thanks for so many great memories. God bless.”
