The Baltimore Ravens are prepping for a heated matchup to open the NFL playoffs on the AFC side. The Pittsburgh Steelers await, and both teams will be playing with quite an edge.
I talked to Rob Gregson, Steelers beat writer, about the most important aspects of the NFC North rivalry game in this year’s Wild Card round.
3 burning questions for Ravens-Steelers
With nearly everyone doubting them & uncertainty at the QB position, what must the Steelers accomplish in order to pull off the upset this weekend?
After a three-game skid, the Steelers have to figure things out QUICKLYAfter a three-game skid, the Steelers have to figure things out QUICKLY
It starts with running the ball. That task may have gotten a lot harder as they may be without or playing an injured Mason McCormick, but if the Steelers can’t establish a strong ground game, forget about winning. — Rob Gregson
George Pickens’ antics have seemingly become a bit too much to overlook after last week’s dud, especially. Do you think he will get back on track against the Ravens?
At this point, it’s anyone’s guess as to what George Pickens shows up on a given week. He’s only a couple games removed from a quietly serious hamstring injury, so maybe now he that he is back to full steam, he makes a couple of the catches he’s known for against Baltimore. — Rob Gregson
Can Mike Tomlin pull a rabbit out of his hat in this postseason rivalry game against a Baltimore team that he’s shut down in the past with Lamar Jackson? Give me your prediction for the winner & the score.
A3. Unfortunately for Steelers fans, recent history just doesn’t bode well for their chances on Saturday. Sure the Steelers already beat this version of the Ravens once, and yes the games tend to be close. But this would be one of the biggest upsets in recent memory, and instead of people questioning Pittsburgh’s future, it would be Baltimore catching heat. The Ravens are just too much to handle. 30-20 Baltimore.– Rob Gregson
