Cowboy Carter topped the Billboard 200 chart for a second consecutive week, boosted by CD and vinyl sales.
Beyoncé’s Cowboy Carter album holds the No. 1 spot for a second consecutive week on the Billboard album chart, surpassing new releases from J. Cole and K-pop group Tomorrow X Together.
According to tracking service Luminate, Cowboy Carter remained atop the Billboard 200 this week, selling the equivalent of 125,500 copies in the United States. That includes 133 million streams and 20,500 physical copies. It’s Beyoncé’s first consecutive No. 1 since her self-titled 2013 album (which topped the chart three times in a row and was initially only available as a download on iTunes).
As in its first week, Beyoncé’s total was bolstered by sales of physical copies of the album on CD and vinyl. For the first two weeks, the album was sold exclusively on her website. Retailers have since begun stocking Cowboy Carter. As she did with her 2022 album Renaissance, Beyoncé made a promotional appearance at her Los Angeles store this time, where fans could buy autographed copies of her album. They soon began showing up on eBay for $2,000 or more.
Rapper J. Cole’s Might Delete Later came in at number two with 115,000 equivalent sales, mostly from streaming. The album gained attention for its Kendrick Lamar-targeted track “7 Minute Drill.” But J. Cole quickly apologized and removed the track from streaming versions of the album.
Tomorrow X Together, a five-member South Korean group, came in at No. 3 with Minisode 3: Tomorrow, a seven-track mini album that sold 107,500 copies. Also this week, Future and Metro Boomin’s joint album We Don’t Trust You , released three weeks ago, fell to No. 4, and Morgan Wallen’s One Thing at a Time came in at No. 5.
