A person familiar with the plans told CNN that Beyoncé will appear with Vice President Kamala Harris at a rally on October 26 in Houston, Texas.

This is the first time Beyoncé has appeared on the song that is the theme song for Ms. Harris’s campaign.

Beyoncé will join Willie Nelson for one of the campaign’s biggest closing performances. Since Kamala Harris ascended to the top of the Democratic ticket, the vice president’s team has been working behind the scenes to negotiate a joint appearance before Election Day.

Beyoncé’s team did not respond to CNN ‘s request for comment . Her upcoming appearance was first reported by The Washington Post .

Beyoncé, known for her strict music censorship, quickly approved Harris’ campaign to use her song Freedom as a campaign backdrop when she appeared on stage at the Democratic National Convention.

Kamala Harris first used Freedom at her first official stop at her campaign headquarters, two days after she launched her presidential campaign.

Campaign officials insist there were never plans for Beyoncé to join Harris in Chicago.

Fans may be wondering whether star Taylor Swift — who endorsed Harris in September 2024 — will join her on a campaign trail in the final stretch of the election.

“Isn’t it great?” a campaign official said of Taylor Swift’s appearance, but declined to answer questions.

In Houston, Harris is expected to address abortion rights as she seeks to contrast herself with former President Donald Trump on the controversial issue ahead of Election Day, a senior campaign official previously told CNN .

In her speech, the vice president is expected to warn of the threat a second Trump term poses to women’s reproductive freedom. Harris also blames the former president for his extreme abortion bans, including in Texas. She will join women affected by the law’s restrictions.

For Beyoncé, this is her first official endorsement of Harris.

The superstar has previously been a regular supporter of Democratic candidates. In 2020, Beyoncé endorsed the Biden-Harris ticket by posting on Instagram to encourage her followers to vote. In 2013, she sang the national anthem at President Barack Obama’s second inauguration. In 2016, Beyoncé and her husband Jay-Z performed at a pre-election concert for Hillary Clinton in Cleveland, Ohio, to honor the woman who could become the first female president.
