With a fortune of 1.1 billion USD, Taylor Swift is on the 2024 billionaire list announced by Forbes on April 2. In addition to her massive music career, the singer also attracted attention when owning a series of million-dollar real estate properties.
In 2009, Taylor Swift owned her first apartment after three years of debut. At the age of 20, she bought a penthouse in the Adelicia building in downtown Nashville (Tennessee) for nearly two million USD. The Love Story singer designed the house in a shabby-chic style, inspired by Tim Burton’s Alice in Wonderland. According to the New York Post, Taylor Swift mainly lives and writes here. The “country music princess” bought her second property in Nashville in 2011, for 2.5 million USD. The villa includes a main house with an area of 520 m2 and a guest area of 185 m2. The house was built in Greek Revival style with vaulted ceilings, herringbone floors, and a marble fireplace. Several news outlets reported that Taylor Swift’s mother lived here for a time. The house was built in 1928 and once belonged to Rebekah Harkness (1915-1982), an American composer and heiress to the Standard Oil conglomerate. She was also the inspiration for Taylor’s song The Last Great American Dynasty.
Taylor Swift bought two adjacent penthouses in the Sugar Loaf building in the Tribeca area of New York from Lord of the Rings director Peter Jackson in 2014 for nearly $20 million. The apartment is also where Taylor Swift let actress Sophie Turner and her children live in September 2023, according to Page Six. At that time, Turner was fighting for custody of her children with her ex-husband Joe Jonas in a divorce lawsuit.
In 2017, Taylor Swift spent $18 million to buy a 100-year-old house also in the Tribeca area. According to Elle Decor, the singer hired architect Leopoldo Rosati to renovate the house, upgrading it into a fully equipped property with a home theater, gym, large living room, and a porch with Japanese glass walls. Taylor Swift bought a 1,000-square-foot mansion in Beverly Hills (Los Angeles) for $25 million in 2015. The house has seven bedrooms, 10 bathrooms, two tennis courts and a swimming pool. According to the Daily Mail, the current price of the house is $31.6 million.
