After 41 Long Years, This Dad’s Dream Comes True on ‘AGT’ with a Golden Buzzer Performance That Leaves Everyone Speechless! The person who pressed the Golden Buzzer wasn’t a judge but…

Jon Courtenay is a man of many talents, but his best is making people smile.

The 46-year-old is a pianist, singer, and comedian with decades of experience playing in bars and clubs. That said, he’s never performed anywhere as big as the London Palladium, though he’s dreamed of it for years. Lucky for him, “Britain’s Got Talent” is in the business of making dreams come true.

This year, Jon finally graced the Palladium stage. Determined to make his audition stand out, he not only came with an original song, but one that had the audience laughing seconds in! He began with lyrics poking fun at the judges, then sang about his life and hopes as an entertainer.

“The fact is he never thought he’d be in front of millions of people doing his thing on TV,” he sang, referencing previous winners on the show. “So why not me?”

Jon revealed it was his son, Alfie – sitting in the audience with his big brother, Nathan – who encouraged him to audition for the show: “His youngest boy, one night in bed, ‘Dad, why not you? Go and show them what you do.’”

Then, Jon had the judges in stitches when he portrayed his teenage son’s thoughts with a big grunt.

By the end, it was clear Jon had won over everyone in the room, including all four judges, who gave a standing ovation.

“You’ve made me fall to bits,” Amanda Holden gushed. “I saw a man who made all his dreams come true.”

“It was just so winning,” David Walliams said, while Alesha Dixon added she was “moved to tears.”

But before Simon Cowell could give his official approval, presenters Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly rushed out onto the stage – and straight for the golden buzzer!

The only thing that would have made the moment better for Jon was to share it with his late father, who taught him how to play piano. But he was just as happy to be celebrating with his boys.
