Lamar Odom has said that he bought an
$8,000 (£6,312) sex doll modelled on his ex-wife Khloe Kardashian to help with his mental health.
The former NBA player, 45 – who was married to Khloe, 40, from 2009 until 2016 – was filmed browsing RealDoll in Las Vegas earlier in November, as he felt up the huge realistic sex dolls in the facility, which cost between $8k and $20k (£15,420).
Fans were shocked by Lamar’s purchase but he has now shed some light on the reason behind it.
Speaking on the We’re Out Of Time podcast, Lamar explained: ‘When you’re really thinking about it, (it’s) like a doll.
But then you think about like, mental health, and how important that is, not just in today’s time, but just from the beginning of time. A sex doll that looks like your wife is about mental health.’
He added: ‘It’s sick, but I think we’re all a little off, a little weird. They’re gonna make it to look like her. I need like, a harem.’
When asked if he’s still in contact with Khloe, the former basketball star revealed: ‘She still cares about me. I don’t speak to her. I can text her and she’ll reply.’
Shopping for his new sex doll earlier this month, Lamar was seen picking up dildos, and groping the dolls’ boobs, as he commented on how realistic they were, as you could even see the veins.
‘This would make me proud to get into women’s fashion too, because I love women’s clothes,’ he joked.
Lamar’s manager Gina Rodriguez told TMZ the sportstar first saw RealDoll in a news story a month ago and knew ‘instantly’ he had to get one himself.
He was in Las Vegas for his birthday, and decided this would be a good time to find himself a silicone girlfriend. It’s thought he made the purchase, with the tailor-made doll under construction.
The dolls on offer are not just bought from the shopfront, but are custom-made, allowing shoppers to choose everything from the look of their vagina, to their face.
The outlet reported they were told Lamar wanted a doll with voluptuous curves, and it will be modelled on the face of his ex-wife, Khloe.
His manager told the outlet a Khloe-like doll would be perfect because he can do ‘whatever he wants with her sexually’.
As Lamar reposted TMZ’s article on X, followers have commented on how ‘creepy’ and ‘weird’ his purchase is.
Weĺl… that’s weird,’ commented @AWeirdSpotNTime, as @DemonEvilMuscle added: ‘I think I speak for most when I say WTF!’
@Lexie_Anne24 asked him: ‘How would you feel if your ex had a custom sex doll made to look like you?’
‘This is beyond weird and creepy,’ said @LNM_Teisha, as @iam_celiiine said: ‘This is not okay.’
RealDoll also sell life-like sex toys from $599 (£461) and even has AI sex dolls, which are a robotic doll system with a head that will form expressions, move, blink and speak.
These dolls also have customisable AI software ‘X-Mode’ allowing buyers to create ‘unique personalities’ and ‘control the voice’ of the robot.
Khloe and the sports star tied the knot just weeks after they first met in 2009, and while they didn’t divorce until 2016, they split three years prior.
Lamar has been open with his addiction struggles. He survived 12 strokes and six heart attacks while in a three-day coma in 2015, after he was hospitalised for an overdose.
He was found unconscious at a brothel in Nevada, and woke up to Khloe by his side in hospital.
Last year he reflected that he is ’embarrassed’ about the way he treated the Kardashian during their marriage?
In an interview for TMZ Presents: Lamar Odom: Sex, Drugs and Kardashians, he said: ‘Behind the scenes, I put her through s***. Like, s*** that y’all don’t know. The s*** y’all know, what y’all think y’all know, it’s crazy. But the stories that y’all don’t know is, like, really crazy.
