The Harrison Butker story was done, that is until Serena Williams resurrected it at the ESPYs on Thursday night.
The tennis legend hosted the event and created plenty of memorable moments, but perhaps none so memorable as her going after the Kansas City Chiefs kicker.

Harrison Butker Responds To Serena Williams
Harrison Buter has since responded to Serena Williams’ shot. The kicker made a statement to NBC News in which he lauded the tennis icon for her fine hosting job but criticized her for being dismissive.
“I thought Mrs. Williams was a great host and applaud her for using her platform to express her beliefs on a variety of topics,” he wrote.
“Sports are supposed to be the great unifier and at an event dedicated to celebrating a diverse group of men and women who have accomplished great feats, she used it as an opportunity to disinvite those with whom she disagrees with from supporting fellow athletes.”
Butker, a former seventh-round pick by the Carolina Panthers, has spent his entire career with the Chiefs, who picked him up after he was waived before making a single appearance for the NFC outfit.
He has since helped Kansas City to three Super Bowl wins.
