While many things have shifted for Serena Williams since becoming a mom, one of the most prominent has been the way she approaches beauty.
In a new interview with Byrdie, the tennis pro, who recently launched a beauty brand, shared that since becoming a mom to daughters Olympia, 6, and Adira, born in August 2023, her relationship with inner and outer beauty has changed.
“The way I talk to myself about beauty has certainly changed throughout my life, and it will continue to evolve,” Williams began.
“Motherhood has allowed me to look at beauty through the eyes of my daughter, Olympia. We’re always experimenting with makeup together, and I think about how these moments will be part of both of our beauty journeys.”

Serena Williams Praises ‘Loving Yourself’ as She Embraces Her Postpartum Body: ‘Well Worth It’
Williams shares her two daughters with husband Alexis Ohanian.
Elsewhere in the interview, the proud mom was asked what has brought her the most happiness in her life. “My kids,” she responded without hesitation. “I can’t say that a Wimbledon trophy holds a candle to volunteering at my kid’s school.”
She also added that as they grow up, “I want my daughters to look at my career and learn that being authentic to themselves is really the most important thing.”
“I also hope my daughters see how many different passions I have — from tennis to beauty — and learn that they can lead dynamic careers and lives across their many interests,” she told the outlet.

In January, Williams and Ohanian kicked off the new year by sharing pictures from their Caribbean trip with Olympia.
The couple appeared to enjoy some special one-on-one time with Olympia as the three of them dressed up as pirates. Williams and Ohanian worked with Olympia to solve a treasure hunt, which included digging on “a deserted island in the Caribbean.”
“A naughty pirate stole a bunch of gifts for Jr and she had to piece together a map, find the buried treasure on a deserted island in the Caribbean, and dig it up. I think we all know who did most of the digging, though,” Ohanian, 40, captioned a photo where he helped his little girl dig.
Another set of photos shared by the retired tennis pro showed more scenes from their island adventure, writing, “Yea we doing the unexpected for 2024… keep em guessing.”
