Serena Williams Says Younger Daughter Adira Is a ‘Tough Little Cookie’: ‘She Reminds Me a Lot of Me’
Tennis icon Serena Williams recently opened up about her youngest daughter, Adira, describing her as a “tough little cookie” who shares many of her own personality traits. In a heartfelt interview, Williams shared how she sees glimpses of herself in her baby girl, noting her resilience and determination even at such a young age.
“She reminds me a lot of me,” Serena said. “She’s strong-willed, fearless, and always ready to take on the world. I can already tell she has that fighter spirit.”
Williams, who welcomed Adira with her husband, Alexis Ohanian, in 2023, has been embracing motherhood alongside her post-retirement ventures. Though she has stepped away from professional tennis, her competitive nature and drive remain evident in her approach to raising her two daughters.
“Being a mom has been my greatest challenge and my greatest joy,” Williams continued. “I see so much of myself in both of my girls, but Adira is especially feisty. It’s amazing to watch her grow and develop her own personality.”
The 23-time Grand Slam champion has previously spoken about the importance of resilience and perseverance, values she hopes to pass on to both Adira and her eldest daughter, Olympia. Fans have often admired Williams for her ability to balance family life with her numerous business ventures, including Serena Ventures and her fashion brand.
As Serena continues to navigate life beyond the tennis court, she remains focused on instilling confidence and strength in her daughters. “I want them to know they can do anything they set their minds to,” she said. “If Adira is already showing this much determination now, I can’t wait to see what she accomplishes in the future.”
Williams’ words have once again endeared her to fans, who continue to celebrate her journey as both an athlete and a mother. While her days of dominating the tennis courts may be behind her, it’s clear that her legacy lives on—not just in the sport, but in the next generation she’s raising.
