She’s known for her outrageous sense of style when it comes to performing on stage, daring to go where others have not in the couture fashion stakes.

But Lady Gaga ditched the high-stakes ensembles for a more relaxed look on Saturday, as she flew into Nice airport ahead of her performance at the Monte Carlo Jazz Festival.

The 29-year-old pop superstar, who kicked-off a tour of European festivals with her appearance in Monaco, went for a low-key look that was not only comfy to travel in, but also paid homage to ‘the King’ himself, Elvis Presley.

The Do What U Want singer looked the epitome of relaxed as she left the airport in the South of France, pinning her peroxide blonde locks up into a loose bun as she strolled to her waiting vehicle.

The pop star kept to a dressed-down theme as she donned a pair of torn denim jeans and a white tee, while she wrapped an ivory patterned scarf around herself to keep any hint of an evening chill at bay.

However, Mother Monster managed to keep her rock ‘n’ roll credentials by donning a pair of round-framed sunglasses that hid any hint of tired eyes – whether from touring or travelling – behind their dark lenses.

And – as if to affirm that the Queen of Pop still has idols herself – Gaga picked a tee with the King of the charts, Elvis, stamped across its front.

But despite her more ‘relaxed’ appearance, the fashionista – real name Stefani Germanotta – kept her high-class fashion credentials on display by wearing a pair of understated blue stilettos.

The singer, who was seen clasping a large book as she strolled nonchalantly out of arrivals, has previously paid homage to her musical heroes by wearing their merchandise out and about.

It was only on her arrival into New York on Wednesday that she sported an Iron Maiden tee – with the singer proclaiming herself a fan of the British Metal icons in an interview with Rolling Stone.

In an interview in 2011, Gaga revealed that she looked-up to the ageing head-banging band, saying: ‘Iron Maiden is all about, “We don’t care who our fans are. We love everybody.”‘

She said that she sees the gnarled Number Of The Beast rockers as inspirations when it comes to their connection with their fan base – saying that she would love to emulate that relationship with her own fans.

She explained, saying: ‘The devotion of the fans moving in unison, pumping their fists, watching the show – when I see that, I see the paradigm for my future and the relationship I want to have with my fans.

‘Iron Maiden has never had a hit song, and they tour stadiums around the world, and their fans live, breathe and die for Maiden, and that is my dream.’
