Julia Roberts is collaborating with Riley Keough on a moving new project.

The actress, 56, will narrate the audiobook for Lisa Marie Presley’s posthumous memoir, From Here to the Great Unknown, out on Oct. 8 in all formats. The audio edition will also be narrated by Lisa Marie’s daughter, actress Riley Keough, who helped complete the book after her mother’s death in 2023.

Presley, who died at age of 54 of a small-bowel obstruction that developed after she’d undergone bariatric surgery several years prior, had previously asked Riley to help finish her memoir, which detailed her life growing up as the daughter of Elvis and Priscilla Presley, as well as her romantic relationships, motherhood and becoming a grandmother. After Lisa Marie’s death, Riley, whose father is musician Danny Keough, finished the book by utilizing taped voice recordings that her mother had left for her.

“Because my mother was Elvis Presley’s daughter, she was constantly talked about, argued over and dissected,” Riley told PEOPLE in an exclusive email interview, for a cover story in this week’s print issue.

“What she wanted to do in her memoir, and what I hope I’ve done in finishing it for her, is to go beneath the magazine headline idea of her and reveals the core of who she was. To turn her into a three-dimensional human being: the best mother, a wild child, a fierce friend, an underrated artist, frank, funny, traumatized, joyous, grieving, everything that she was throughout her remarkable life. I want to give voice to my mother in a way that eluded her while she was alive.”

The memoir also addresses the more difficult moments of Lisa Marie’s life: the grief she experienced after her father died, her struggles with addiction and the loss of her son Benjamin, Riley’s brother, who died by suicide in 2020.

“I was so moved by Lisa Marie’s incredible memoir,” Roberts tells PEOPLE, in an exclusive statement. “It was a real privilege to give voice to her wild and beautiful life and I deeply appreciate Riley entrusting me with her mother’s story.”
