Kanye West has once again mentioned Taylor Swift in his music, reigniting a long-standing feud between the two artists. In his new track “Lifestyle” from the highly anticipated Vultures 2, the lyrics include, “I twist my Taylor spliffs tight at the end like Travis Kelce.”

Fans have speculated that Taylor subtly responded during her August 3 concert in Warsaw, Poland, by wearing a shirt reading “I Bet You Think About Me,” which they interpreted as a message to Kanye.

The feud between Kanye and Taylor dates back to 2009 when West infamously interrupted Taylor’s acceptance speech at the MTV Video Music Awards. Over the years, tensions have flared up multiple times, notably in 2016 with Kanye’s song “Famous,” which contained controversial lyrics about Taylor.

Fans of both Kanye and Taylor have taken to Twitter to express their opinions. One fan dissed the rapper, saying, “The obsession Taylor was truly his dream girl even during 2 marriages.” Another defended Taylor, stating, “Can he stop mentioning her for clout.” In defense of Kanye, a fan commented, “It clearly says that’s a Lil Wayne verse. Swiftards never beating the allegations.” Another user added, “Was that even supposed to be a dig? I don’t get it.”

In a December 2023 interview with TIME magazine, Taylor described the fallout from the 2009 incident as “a career death” that affected her deeply.

Despite the renewed tensions, Taylor’s latest album, The Tortured Poets Department, released in April, is currently outperforming Kanye’s Vultures 2 on Spotify charts just 24 hours after its release. This success highlights Taylor’s continued influence and popularity in the music industry.
