Kanye’s West blueprint for destruction of $60M mansion created by mysterious ‘God of architecture’ – as his dark and twisted designs are finally released

Kanye West’s Transformation of a $53 Million Malibu Mansion: From Architectural Masterpiece to

‘Batcave’

Shocking images have surfaced, revealing how Kanye West acquired and then destroyed a $53

million beachfront mansion, originally designed by renowned Japanese architect Tadao Ando. The

transformation has not only obliterated the architectural integrity of the home but also drastically

reduced its value by $14 million.

The Malibu property, completed in 2013, was celebrated for its minimalist design, characterized by expansive glass exteriors that seamlessly blended the interior spaces with the natural surroundings. Ando’s work is renowned for its precision and its ability to create tranquil, harmonious spaces that highlight the interplay between light and nature.

In stark contrast, Kanye West, whose eccentric style has frequently made headlines, decided to overhaul the property entirely. Describing his vision to a laborer, Kanye said, “This is going to be my bomb shelter. This is going to be my Batcave,” according to an interview with the New Yorker. The mansion, which once boasted stunning views, elegant interiors, and sophisticated decor, is now a hollowed-out shell, stripped of its charm and functionality.

Kanye’s crew, including Bianca Censori, employed laborers to dismantle the mansion’s interiors. The process involved removing doors, windows, plumbing, and electrical systems, leaving behind only the skeletal remains of Ando’s design. The once majestic spaces, adorned with expensive artwork, ornate marble fittings, and elegant wooden cabinets, now consist of gaping holes and empty rooms.

The property, perched on stilts above the sandy Malibu beach, now presents a stark, desolate view, with its blackened exterior starkly contrasting with its once serene surroundings. The mansion’s transformation includes the demolition of its wide staircases, replaced with a foam slide, reflecting Kanye’s unconventional vision.

Kanye West has long harbored a passion for architecture, often comparing himself to Ando, whom he has described as “the world’s greatest living architect” and “the Ye of all architects.” His interest in architecture is well-documented, including his collaborations with renowned architects like David Adjaye, Toyo Ito, and Jacques Herzog. The rapper’s fascination also extended to his conceptual “Yeezy home” projects, which he envisioned as innovative, desert igloo-like structures.

Despite his high regard for Ando’s work, Kanye’s taste diverged significantly. Architect Kulapat Yantrasast, who discussed the Malibu mansion with Kanye, revealed that Kanye did not appreciate the house’s interior. This dissatisfaction led to the radical changes that have devalued the property from $53 million to $39 million.

Among those enlisted for the demolition was Tony Saxon, a New Jersey laborer who documented his grueling work on the project. Saxon described his long, exhausting days, often sleeping on a mattress inside the house and subsisting on Clif Bars and Red Bulls. His tasks included painting over marble walls and wooden fittings with gray paint, removing wooden cabinets, and dismantling the house’s unique architectural features.

Saxon’s interactions with Kanye and Censori were frequent and intense. He recalled being woken up in the middle of the night by urgent calls from Censori, who would assign him new tasks. Despite the grueling work and the stark changes he was making, Saxon expressed a sense of camaraderie with Kanye, even sharing videos with the New Yorker of himself helping to topple chimneys and smashing marble walls.

The transformation of the mansion has been so radical that its value has plummeted significantly. The home’s 4,000 square feet of space, once a symbol of architectural elegance, now stands as a testament to Kanye’s unconventional vision. The drastic changes have not only stripped the mansion of its original beauty but have also turned it into a controversial symbol of Kanye’s unique style and his approach to art and architecture.

The stark contrast between the mansion’s original design and Kanye’s alterations has drawn widespread attention and criticism. Architectural experts, former collaborators, and the public have been vocal about the loss of a significant piece of architectural heritage. The mansion’s transformation continues to be a topic of debate, reflecting broader discussions on art, architecture, and celebrity influence in the design world.
