What happened at Elvis Presley’s last concert in 1977?
Elvis Presley performed on stage for the last time on June 26, 1977, at the Market Square arena in Indianapolis.
This marked his 55th show of that year.
According to Smooth Radio, the only thing unusual about his performance was that he brought several family and friends on stage with him and introduced them to the audience.
This led some fans to later believe that he knew somehow it would be his final performance.
However, others believed it was in anticipation of his upcoming tell-all biography titled Evlis: What Happened?
Presley died just two months after his last performance in his Graceland mansion in Memphis, Tennessee, on August 16, 1977.
Although his June 26 performance was his last, many fans believed it to be the one shown on the CBS-TV Elvis in Concert event as it was advertised as his last-ever performance.
However, the footage from these shows was taken from a June 19 1977 concert in Omaha, and June 21, in Rapid City.
The recordings show how Elvis starts to stumble and forget his words while on stage.
He looks awkward and is visibly sweating, but as soon as he starts singing again he manages to finish off with an incredible performance.
