Denver Broncos could potentially play an international game during the 2025 season in 1 of 3 different countries

We’re still a few months away from the NFL’s 2025 schedule release, but every team knows who their opponents are for next season.

Among those that the Denver Broncos are set to play are the Indianapolis Colts, New York Jets, and AFC West division rival Los Angeles Chargers. What do those three teams have in common? Each of them will host a game overseas in 2025 (H/T Ryan Edwards).

That gives the Broncos a chance to play an international game for the first time since 2022, when they beat the Jacksonville Jaguars 21-17 in London, England. If Denver is selected, it would be the away team in each matchup, meaning it won’t have to surrender a home game.

The Colts will play in Germany, the Jets in London, and the Chargers in Brazil. It has already been determined that the Chargers’ game in Brazil will take place in Week 1, similar to when the Philadelphia Eagles played the Green Bay Packers in 2024’s season opener.

That game took place on a Friday, one day after the NFL’s traditional Thursday season opener. This would be the ideal scenario for the Broncos as they will be fresh to start the season and will have a couple of extra days rest and preparation heading into Week 2.

If Denver faces the Colts or Jets, it will be traveling overseas. Teams usually receive their bye week after playing overseas, but they can opt to go ahead and play the following week if they want to, which the Jets did last year. International games usually wrap up before Thanksgiving in November.

With the Broncos’ significant improvement in 2024, they could find themselves in the national spotlight more in 2025. Not only might they play internationally, but they could see more primetimes games. Denver plays seven games against teams that made the playoffs last year, including both Super Bowl teams in the Chiefs and Eagles.
