After six seasons with the San Francisco 49ers, Deebo Samuel is headed elsewhere. The wide receiver was traded to the Washington Commanders in exchange for a fifth round pick.
And on Monday, he wrote a heartfelt message to the 49ers .
“49ers know where I stand with them and it’s nothing but love. Love John and Kyle to death no bad blood no way shape or form. They know I’m more than appreciative of everything they done for me as a player and a man nothing but love ❤️,” Samuel posted on X, formerly known as Twitter.
The Commanders will take on the remainder of Deebo Samuel’s contract and paying his full $17.55 million salary for the 2025 season.
Samuel finished last season with 51 receptions for 670 receiving yards and three receiving touchdowns along with 42 carries for 136 rushing yards and one rushing touchdown in 15 games played.
He also posted that he’s excited for a new start after all the reports about his weight last season.
“225 to be exact…. Can’t wait till this season start. Fresh start new Bo,” Samuel wrote.
It is a fresh start indeed, as he will head to the Commanders who are looking to repeat last season’s success, making a deep run in the playoffs. Let’s see if Samuel can help them with that.
