Interesting AFC Team Has Reportedly Reached Out To Eagles About A Potential Blockbuster Trade For Superstar WR A.J. Brown

A rebuilding team reportedly reached out to the Philadelphia Eagles to inquire about the availability of superstar wide receiver A.J. Brown.

The 27-year-old Brown has been mentioned in trade rumors since the Eagles’ victory over the Kansas City Chiefs in Super Bowl 59. The Eagles haven’t at all indicated that they’re shopping Brow, however, and the three-time Pro Bowler hasn’t hinted at wanting to leave.

But of course, it just takes one can’t-refuse offer for GM Howie Roseman to trade Philly’s No. 1 pass-catcher. With 2,000-yard rusher Saquon Barkley emerging as the Eagles’ go-to weapon, a Brown trade at least feels a lot more possible now compared to a year ago.

According to a report from Matthew Berry of NBC Sports, the New England Patriots contacted the Eagles to see if A.J. Brown:

“I’ve heard the Patriots WILL do whatever they can to get a real “WR1” for Drake Maye and the new coaching staff. I heard they are knocking on all doors, seeing what they can possibly trade for, and one person told me they heard the Patriots called Philly asking if A.J. Brown was available. Shrug emoji on if that’s true, or what Philly’s answer was, but this much seems certain: New England will aggressively try to upgrade its wide receiver room this offseason.”

The Patriots could certainly use an all-world talent like Brown, considering they haven’t had a 1,000-yard receiver since 2019, when Julian Edelman hit the mark in Tom Brady’s final season with the organization.

Eagles Should Hold A.J. Brown For A Repeat Quest

Despite missing four games, Brown finished with a superb stat line of 67 receptions for 1,079 yards and seven touchdowns. And again, that was with Barkley emerging as the focal point of Philly’s offense.

A healthy Brown is arguably a top-five receiver in the game, and the odds of Philly getting equal value in a potential trade are slim. With Brown still in his prime, the Eagles should hold onto the superstar pass-catcher in their bid to complete a rare Super Bowl three-peat.
