Los Angeles Chargers quarterback Justin Herbert showed off his fascinating hobby and skill occupying his offseason time, and it’s not related to football at all.
The 27-year-old Justin Herbert wrapped up his fifth season with the Chargers in January, leading the franchise to its second playoff berth in three years under new head coach Jim Harbaugh.
With Herbert still in the midst of his offseason downtime before team workouts ramp up, the Pro Bowl signal-caller is keeping himself busy by raising chickens. The Bolts’ franchise star shared a glimpse of his new hobby in an Instagram story:
If Justin Herbert needs some advice on raising chickens, he can pick the brain of two-time Super Bowl champion Von Miller. The latter, who was just released by the Buffalo Bills in a cap-saving move, graduated from Texas A&M with a major in poultry science.
Miller spends valuable offseason time raising chickens on his own farm, too.
With egg prices notably increasing under President Donald Trump, Herbert and Miller should consider selling eggs from their chickens at a reasonable price. It’s a good time to get into the business, and it would net them both some nice side cash.

Herbert’s individual production has been off-the-charts to begin his career, with a 66.5 completion percentage for 21,093 yards, 137 touchdowns and only 45 interceptions in 79 games.
But the 2020 first-round pick is still looking for his first career playoff win heading into year six. It’s not Herbert’s fault that he was held back by inept coaching and management early in his career, but there aren’t any more excuses now that he has a top-tier head coach and an elite defense that allowed the fewest points last season.
