With 2025 NFL free agency officially opening today, former Green Bay Packers and New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers is free to sign wherever now.

As expected, the Jets officially released Rodgers from his contract after failing to find a trade partner. The 41-year-old is now a free agent for the first time in his career, and there’s no shortage of interest in the four-time MVP.

Rodgers has already spoken to the Pittsburgh Steelers and New York Giants, per multiple reports. The Minnesota Vikings have also been mentioned as a potential landing spot for Rodgers, with Pro Bowler Sam Darnold leaving to sign with the Seattle Seahawks.

The Daily Mail obtained images of Aaron Rodgers hanging out by himself at Malibu Beach on Tuesday evening, where he appears to be thinking deeply with headphones and a towel wrapped around his body:

When the Jets announced last month that they were moving on from Rodgers, there was speculation that he’d retire following a disappointing season. But with Rodgers speaking to multiple teams, it would appear that the future Hall of Famer isn’t ready to call it quits yet.

In his only full season with the Jets franchise, Aaron Rodgers threw for 3,897 yards, 28 touchdowns and 11 interceptions. For his career, Rodgers has 62,952 passing yards and 503 touchdowns.

Aaron Rodgers Should Sign With Steelers

The Giants have been one of football’s worst teams for over a decade, so Rodgers should have no interest in joining a franchise that’s almost as dysfunctional as the Jets.

Minnesota makes sense for Rodgers given their star-studded weaponry, but he’d also be joining football’s toughest division with two other contenders in the Detroit Lions and Green Bay Packers.

Pittsburgh is Rodgers’ best bet, since he’d have an elite offensive line, a top-10 defense, a Hall of Fame coach (Mike Tomlin) and two explosive receivers in D.K. Metcalf and George Pickens to throw the ball to.
