Amy Grant and Trisha Yearwood kicked off the holiday season in style by co-hosting the annual CMA Country Christmas special for the second consecutive year.

The dynamic duo not only served as the charming hosts of the evening but also teamed up for a lively performance of the Christmas classic “Santa Claus Is Coming To Town.” Their performance was backed by a full orchestra and festive dancers.

In the midst of the performance, dancers made their way into the crowd, while the orchestra members added to the fun by putting on Santa hats and joining the festivities.

Just as the energy was building, a surprise guest made a special appearance on stage — none other than Santa Claus himself! The audience erupted in cheers as he waved from the stage, spreading holiday cheer to those in the venue and viewers watching at home.

Throughout the evening, Grant and Yearwood kept the show entertaining by changing their outfits multiple times, adding extra flair to their hosting duties. For their performance of “Santa Claus Is Coming To Town,” Yearwood dazzled in a sparkling red floor-length gown, while Grant opted for a glamorous silver sequined pants set.

They also had the opportunity to perform solo, with Grant opening the show with her holiday classic, “Tennessee Christmas,” and Yearwood performing a festive Christmas medley.

Ahead of the show, the pair discussed hosting together, and Yearwood couldn’t help but to praise Grant.

“I was excited to get the call to come back and co-host again with you, Amy, because it was so much fun last year,” Yearwood told her. “And when you’re in the music industry, you kind of see each other at things and you get a chance to kind of say hello, but you don’t get a chance to really spend much time together. And last year was the first time I got to really just see how funny you are, just how you are, a sense of calm. I talk 90 miles an hour and you’re just a sense of calm. And you’re Amy Grant, so that’s pretty cool. I mean, we’re not very far apart in age, but you started your career very young, and so you were very influential on me as a young girl. So just to be able to perform with you and be here with you is the best.”

Grant echoed Yearwood, adding, “I feel the same way. It’s funny, when we worked together something about you already felt familiar to me and it just happened in passing. You were friends with Vince before I knew you, but it was just interesting to get to work together.”

CMA Country Christmas was filmed in Nashville in front of a live audience and also featured performances from Cody Johnson, Ashley McBryde with Brittney Spencer, Jon Pardi, and more.
