Garth Brooks and Trisha Yearwood returned to CBS on Sunday evening (Dec. 20) for a one-hour concert special dubbed GARTH & TRISHA LIVE! A HOLIDAY CONCERT EVENT.

The superstar couple took live requests from fans throughout the show, performing a number of holiday classics and fan favorites from a beautifully decorated Studio G and throughout their festive home.

Brooks and Yearwood’s personalities shined throughout the one-hour event and offered viewers an inside look at their superstar relationship.

“It’s live, it’s casual and it’s not perfect, but we’re having fun,” Yearwood joked during the special.

Brooks and Yearwood got quite emotional during the special and tears flowed as he delivered an acoustic performance of “Belleau Wood” from his 1997 album, Sevens.

“That song is so beautiful, oh gosh the message is so beautiful,” Yearwood passionately shared.

The couple later made their way to the kitchen where they performed their personal favorite holiday tunes, with Brooks singing “Feliz Navidad” and Yearwood covering Dolly Parton’s “Hard Candy Christmas.”

Brooks and Yearwood also delivered the full-length live debut of their “Shallow” duet.

“We’ve never done this, the whole song, ever,” Brooks said as Yearwood added, “Not with acoustic guitar.”

Requests for the beloved country couple came in from all around the world, including Finland, Oklahoma, Georgia and Calgary.

Their set list included the following songs:

“What I’m Thankful For”
“Little Drummer Boy”
“Silent Night”
“Santa Baby”
“Belleau Wood” (Garth Brooks Original)

GARTH & TRISHA LIVE! follows the couple’s first CBS all-request show, which took place early in the pandemic.

“Our viewers loved reaching out directly to Garth and Trisha to request their favorite hits back when the pandemic first hit. It brought some fun and joy directly into their living rooms as they were hunkered down with their families,” Jack Sussman, Executive Vice President, Specials, Music & Live Events/Alternative & Reality for CBS previously shared. “Now, nine long months later, who better to bring some holiday magic, performing some of the greatest holiday songs of all time than Garth Brooks and Trisha Yearwood.”

GARTH & TRISHA LIVE! A HOLIDAY CONCERT EVENT was filmed without a live studio audience. Extensive safety precautions took place when filming the special with a minimal crew following social distancing guidelines.
