Boise, Idaho was the place to be on Friday night (July 19). During Garth Brooks’ stadium show at Albertsons Stadium at Boise State University, fellow country music superstar, Blake Shelton joined Brooks’ on stage for a surprise performance of their new song, “Dive Bar.”
In a video shared by a lucky fan who was at the concert, you can watch Brooks prepping the crowd for Sheltons big entrance. The second Shelton started singing, the crowd went absolutely wild. The two delivered an energetic performance of the feel-good jam, leaving the crowd ready for more. “Dive Bar” is expected to be included on Brooks’ forthcoming album, “Fun.”
“Dive Bar” isn’t the only song Shelton performed for the rowdy Boise crowd. Following the duet, Brooks’ asked Shelton to sing his latest No. 1 hit, “God’s Country.” Of course, Shelton picked up the guitar and delivers an incredible, gritty performance of the song. With fans on their feet, Brooks walks back out on to the stage and says, “Dude, that was sweet.” Talk about an epic night.
Following the night, Brooks took to Instagram to share a photo of the two hugging on stage with the caption, “Two okies in a 40,000 seat #DiveBar!!! Boise, you and @BlakeShelton are THE BEST! love, g”
This show was a part of Brooks’ “Stadium Tour” which kicked off at Notre Dame Stadium in October of 2018. In addition to Brook’s “Stadium Tour,” he’s also out on the road this summer for his seven-stop “Dive Bar Tour.” Brooks kicked off the “Dive Bar Tour” in Chicago, IL on July 15 at Joe’s on Weed Street. The small venue’s limits were tested with nearly 600 rowdy fans packed tight into the small space. The night was full of Brooks’ classic, fan-favorites with the addition of a few classic country covers. Stay tuned for “Dive Bar Tour” dates that have yet to be announced.
