Morgan Wallen and Lainey Wilson teamed up for a surprise duet of Wallen’s latest release, “Lies Lies Lies” on Thursday evening during the One Night At A Time World Tour stop at Kansas City’s Arrowhead Stadium.
The duet came amid Wallen’s headlining performance and after Wilson’s set earlier in the night.
Prior to bringing his longtime friend on stage, Wallen praised Wilson, sharing how proud he is of the career she’s built.
“She joined up back with us tonight in Kansas City after a little bit of a hiatus,” he shared of Wilson, who previously joined him for select One Night At A Time tour dates. “She is a true badass and we’ve all believed in her from day one and it’s so nice to see the way that she has just blown up. I couldn’t be happier for someone. Y’all make some noise for Lainey Wilson!”
Wilson, wearing her signature bell bottoms in Kansas City Chiefs colors, joined Wallen on the B-stage at the stadium, giving him a big hug before they made their way to the mics.
As the stadium erupted in cheers, Wallen explained, “Me and Lainey, we don’t have a song together as of now, so we’re gonna try something that we ain’t never tried before. This is my most recent release. It’s called ‘Lies Lies Lies.’ Y’all sing it with us.”
The pair proceeded to sing the heartbreak anthem together, with Wallen taking on the first verse. They harmonized together on the chorus, and Wilson’s powerful vocals took over on the second verse.
“Getting to witness this live was like nothing else love them both so much!! Best night ever,” wrote one fan who attended the show.
Fans who didn’t have a chance to watch in person filled social media clips with comments like “The two biggest artists in country on stage together,” “Never knew I needed a Lainey and Morgan moment,” and “this duo was insane.”
Fans first got a glimpse of “Lies Lies Lies,” written by Jessie Jo Dillon, Josh Miller, Daniel Ross, and Chris Tompkins, and produced by Joey Moi, with the release of his Abbey Road Sessions digital series earlier this year. The highly anticipated studio version came in early July following his headlining BST Hyde Park debut, which took place on July 4. This concert made history as the largest country concert ever held in the United Kingdom.
Wallen’s One Night At A Time World Tour continues back in Kansas City tonight with Bailey Zimmerman, Nate Smith, and Ella Langley. The trek will make its way to Las Vegas next week before returning to Europe for a run of shows in Sweden, Norway, Denmark, and more.

Upon returning to the U.S. in September, Wallen will achieve a lifelong dream by headlining Neyland Stadium in Knoxville with two shows scheduled for September 20 and September 22.
A portion of proceeds from every ticket sold to Morgan Wallen’s live performances goes to The Morgan Wallen Foundation (MWF), which is dedicated to ensuring all children have opportunities to flourish, play, and express themselves through sports and music. In celebration of his Hyde Park debut, MWF has allocated $20,000 to support the London Youth Choirs (LYC). LYC aims to enhance access to music and singing for underprivileged youth, with Wallen’s donation helping them discover their musical talents and thrive.
