Jelly Roll, the chart-topping country-rap artist known for his raw lyrics and larger-than-life persona, is turning heads with his remarkable transformation. Fans are playfully dubbing him “Healthy Jam” after he revealed a slimmer physique and a newfound focus on health and self-care. The change has sparked excitement and curiosity across social media, with many praising the 39-year-old star for embracing what he calls “his farmer era,” complete with rural vibes, homegrown wisdom, and a fresh perspective on life.

Jelly Roll took the country music world by storm with his 2023 album Whitsitt Chapel. Emotionally raw tracks like “Son of a Sinner” and “Save Me” helped the former rapper gain a massive following. As his star continued to rise, Jelly (born Jason DeFord) also decided to take the reins to his health. In October, the 40-year-old Grammy nominee announced he was officially 100 pounds down, vowing, “Next year when y’all see me, you won’t recognize me.” A video recently posted to TikTok by his wife, Bunnie Xo, sees the “Liar” hitmaker showing off his newly slimmed-down frame.

See Jelly Roll Model His Carharts

Since marrying in 2016, Jelly Roll and wife Bunnie Xo (real name: Alyssa DeFord) have allowed social media followers frequent glimpses into their relationship. Fans can’t get enough of their supportive, playful dynamic. That was again the case with Bunnie’s Saturday (Dec. 7) post to TikTok.

In the video, Jelly Roll practices his pageant princess wave as he enters a room sporting Carhart overalls. Fittingly, Bunnie selected Trace Adkins’ “Honky Tonk Badonkadonk” to play over the footage.

“When your husband is in his farmer era,” wrote the Dumb Blonde podcast host in the text overlay, adding a heart-eyes emoji for good measure. The caption reads, simply, “Hes [sic] so fine.”

Fans expressed their agreement in the comments. “Jelly WHO?! This is HEALTHY JAM!” one TikTok user wrote. “Happy looks great on you guys!”

Staying Fit On Tour

Jelly Roll recently wrapped up a highly successful Beautifully Broken tour after hitting the road in August. And the “Get By” singer recently shared with People how he dropped 60 to 70 pounds despite his busy performing schedule.

Jelly and his crew stayed in shape by playing basketball every day. However, the change goes well beyond that. The “Need a Favor” icon has totally transformed the culture surrounding his tours.

“It’s cool because there was once a time in life that the culture I built on tour was the opposite. It revolved around alcohol and drugs,” he said. “And now our tour culture is around good eating and around exercising and doing emotional check-ins with our crew every day.”
