Amy Grant Performs 90's Hit “Good for Me” on the Kelly Clarkson Show - Hope Nation

In the latest Kellyoke segment, Kelly Clarkson and My Band Y’all delivered an incredible cover of “Baby, Baby” by Amy Grant.

Kelly Clarkson has been wowing audiences with covers of popular songs since the beginning of her talk show in 2019. To date, Clarkson has performed hundreds of covers, generating millions of views on the show’s social channels.

In an interview with Billboard, the show’s executive producer, Alex Duda, revealed that the idea for Kellyoke emerged during early show planning, emphasizing music as a key factor of the program.

“We thought, ‘Wouldn’t it be fun if we open the show up with a different cover,’ just like she already does? Because we were trying to incorporate different pieces of Kelly into the show,” Duda, explained.

Since then, Clarkson has covered a wide range of songs, spanning from pop to country and beyond. She’s shown a special love for country music, performing popular tracks from the genre on recent episodes, such as Jelly Roll’s “Save Me” and Lainey Wilson’s “Heart Like a Truck.”

Most recently, she tackled Amy Grant’s ’90s hit “Baby, Baby” on her show.

About “Baby, Baby”

Co-written by Grant and Keith Thomas, who also produced it, the song debuted on January 18, 1991, under A&M Records. It topped the US Billboard Hot 100 chart for two consecutive weeks in April 1991, marking the first of several hits from Heart in Motion.

The song received significant acclaim and was nominated for three Grammy Awards at the 34th Annual Grammy Awards in 1992, including Song of the Year and Record of the Year.

“Stop for a minute / Baby, I’m so glad you’re mine / And ever since the day you put my heart in motion / Baby, I realize there’s just no getting over you”
