SKIMS founder Kim Kardashian has celebrated a huge milestone for her ever-expanding business empire.

The Kardashians star marked the fifth anniversary of Skims – her shapewear and clothing brand she co-founded with entrepreneurs Jens and Emma Grede – after the unwavering success of the designs. Having made over $4 billion from the success of Skims in those five years there is plenty to celebrate for the creators.

Taking to Instagram, Kim shared a series of images of herself posing for a Financial Times HTSI cover story with her fans. She wrote: “What a journey! Celebrating 5 years of @SKIMS and sharing our brand story in this month’s Financial Times HTSI.”

 

Speaking in an interview to run alongside the pictures Kim admitted that while CEO Jens Grede looks after the operations side of the business, she heads up creativity. She said: “I handle the visuals, all the ideas, fabrics, fits. I’m the face of this brand.”

Kim has managed to make the brand a huge success by heavily endorsing the brand herself as well as diversifying the collection and getting several celebrities on board to aid promotion including everyone from Sabrina Carpenter and Charli XCX to Real Madrid footballer Jude Bellingham when she launched her menswear collection. The news comes after Kim has continued to push for the Menendez brothers “freedom” after the siblings were sentenced to life imprisonment when they were found guilty of murdering their parents.

 

After Netflix released the new true crime series Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story, directed by Ryan Murphy, Erik Menendez and Lyle Menendez’ 1996 murder trial has been a hot topic of conversation. The newly released show follows the Menendez brothers who fatally shot their parents in their Beverly Hills home in 1989. During their trials, the brothers cited years of abuse as the reason for killing their parents.

 

And as the case has been brought back into the spotlight, the reality star has advocated for their release from prison and claimed that there is more to the story than viewers realize. In a new Instagram post, Kim shared a black-and-white photo of the siblings standing in front of their home in Beverly Hills and wrote: “It’s time for the Menendez brothers to be freed.”
