Lainey Wilson performed her Top 20 and climbing hit, “Hang Tight Honey,” and her brand-new release, “4x4xU,” in New York City, 100 stories above the ground, during the 48th annual Macy’s 4th of July Fireworks event.

Wilson delivered the two performances from the Edge at Hudson Yards, the highest outdoor sky deck in the Western Hemisphere, during the iconic NBC show on the 4th of July.

Despite strong winds, the reigning ACM and CMA Entertainer of the Year delivered two lively performances with the breathtaking New York City skyline as her backdrop. Fans cheered her on from the sky deck as the sun began to set, casting the skyline in stunning shades of pink, orange, and purple.

WIlson’s performance came amid a busy week for the superstar as she debuted not one but two music videos and a brand new song. The music video for “Hang Tight Honey” made its debut on Wednesday and on Thursday, she released “4x4xU,” along with the accompanying video.

The two-hour celebration also featured performances by Brandy Clark, Luis Fonsi, Shaboozey, Tanner Adell, The War and Treaty, and more.

“Year after year, this telecast never fails to inspire and awe, lighting up the New York skyline with a fireworks display that’s unmatched,” Jen Neal, Executive Vice President of Live Events and Specials, NBCU Entertainment, previously stated. “It’s this type of live programming event that brings us together as a nation, highlighting the distinctiveness of both our NBC and Peacock brands.”

In addition to the musical performances, the 48th annual Macy’s 4th of July Fireworks event, of course, featured a beautiful display of fireworks. With more than 60,000 shells, the Macy’s Fireworks showcased over 30 colors and introduced never-before-seen effects. Fired from five barges on the Hudson River, the pyrotechnics reached heights of 1,000 feet before falling down to the water’s edge.

The 2024 edition of the Fireworks debuted a custom-made effect at the Macy’s 4th of July Fireworks. This new feature included a silver cascading burst that created a central kaleidoscope with alternating red and blue colors, filling the sky with brilliance.

Additional effects, such as cross rings, strobing comets, waterfalls, Saturn circles, crackling pistils, and special ghost pyro that alternated between multiple hues, captivated viewers nationwide. The event culminated in the signature, fan-favorite moment known as the Macy’s Golden Mile.
