Thomas Rhett and Grammy nominee Teddy Swims didn’t just perform at the 2024 CMA Awards—they owned the stage. Their soulful medley of Somethin’ ‘Bout A Woman and Lose Control wasn’t just music; it was pure fire, dripping with passion and raw emotion. The chemistry between them was undeniable, their voices weaving together like a slow dance under dim lights. This wasn’t just a performance—it was an experience, a moment that made every woman in the audience feel seen, heard, and understood. And let’s be real—this song? It’s sexy. The kind that makes your heart race and your soul feel.

The pair released their ‘Somethin’ ‘Bout a Woman’ collaboration on Nov. 15

Thomas Rhett and Teddy Swims sure know how to capture an audience.

The country singer and Swims took the stage at the 2024 CMA Awards on Wednesday, Nov. 20 for a soulful medley of their new collaboration “Somethin’ ‘Bout a Woman” and Swims’ No. 1 hit “Lose Control.”

The performers took the stage wearing all-black outfits and brought the energy as they mashed up the two hit songs.

“Make your heart start to beat/Make you sweat, make you dream,” the duo sang together in “Somethin’ ‘Bout a Woman.” “Lose your mind, lose your sleep/Pushin’ me, doin’ things I thought I couldn’t/Aw, there’s just somethin’ ’bout a woman.”

Thomas Rhett, 34, first released a solo version of the song in August on his latest album About a Woman, and put out a new version featuring Swims, 32, on Nov. 15.

“This collaboration has been something I’ve been wanting to do for a while now,” Thomas Rhett previously said in a press release. “Teddy and I first met through our producer Julian Bunetta back in 2020 and it was pretty much instant musical chemistry… I’ve been wanting to release something with him again ever since, and his voice on this song is insane.”

Swims added: “Been waiting to release this song with Thomas Rhett for a while!! He has been in my corner since day one, so when he called me to join him on ‘Somethin’ ‘Bout A Woman,’ it was a no brainer. It’s an honor to join him on this track — he’s a legend. I love you big bro!”

The “Die a Happy Man” singer and the “Bed on Fire” performer first joined forces in 2020 for “Broke.” They also co-wrote Thomas Rhett’s 2023 song “Angels (Don’t Always Have Wings).”

Hours before their performance, Thomas Rhett and Swims shared a silly video of themselves dancing and jamming out to the collaboration on Instagram.

“Only one thing that make me do this kind of dance… See y’all tonight @cma #CMAawards,” the “Beautiful as You” singer captioned the post.

The 58th Annual CMA Awards broadcast live from Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena on Wednesday, Nov. 20 from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m. on ABC. The show streams the following day on Hulu.
