Xavier Worthy and his Fiancee (Photo via Twitter)
Xavier Worthy continued the trend of Kansas City Chiefs players getting arrested almost every offseason, but he’s now being considered a victim.
The electric wide receiver was arrested for assault in Texas on Friday night and, according to records, was booked for impeding the breathing or circulation of a member of his family or household.
It turns out that the alleged victim was the player’s ex-fiancee, Tia Jones.
However, it’s since been disclosed that no charges will be filed, given the lack of evidence.
“After further investigation by the Williamson County Sheriff’s Office and further discussion with a third-party witness, Mr. Worthy and his attorneys, this case is being declined at this time,” Williamson County District Attorney Shawn Dick told the Austin American-Statesman on Saturday evening.

Butterfly in 2015: Carmen Monarcha and André Rieu’s performance of “Un Bel di Vedremo” from Giacomo Puccini’s M. Butterfly is an emotional and captivating musical moment. The work, composed by Puccini, is characterized by dramatic melodies and a strong emotional struggle between the two main characters. In the 2015 performance, Carmen Monarcha, with her captivating soprano voice, performed this famous aria beautifully, keeping the audience glued to the stage. “Un Bel di Vedremo” is one of the most touching arias in M. Butterfly, where the character Cio-Cio-San (Madame Butterfly) expresses her hope for the return of her lover after a long separation. The song contains pain and undying faith in love, with a melody that is both elegant and full of longing. Carmen Monarcha, with her powerful and delicate voice, perfectly conveyed the character’s emotions. She not only sang but also lived each word, making the listener feel the torment, hope and disappointment of Cio-Cio-San. Meanwhile, André Rieu, with his violin and talented conducting, created a wonderful harmony with Monarcha’s voice. Rieu’s orchestra not only highlighted Puccini’s melody but also enhanced the emotional power of the performance, making the space seem to be filled with the character’s feelings and longing. The audience’s reaction to this performance was extremely enthusiastic. Many said they were drawn into the emotional musical space created by Carmen Monarcha and André Rieu. The melodies imbued with pain and hope moved many people to tears. Rieu’s combination of opera and symphonic music, along with the subtlety with which Monarcha conveyed emotion, made this performance one of the memorable moments in both artists’ careers.

Worthy was released shortly after the announcement, although the DA hasn’t shut the case entirely, having noted that it would continue to be evaluated.
Worthy’s lawyers also released a statement suggesting that the wideout was actually the victim.
Chip Lewis and Sam Bassett assert that Jones attempted to extort Worthy after he found evidence of her infidelity and asked her to leave his home, something she refused to do despite two weeks of urging.
She is also accused of damaging his property, scratching his face, and even pulling out his hair.
“The complainant… made a number of extortive efforts prior to resorting to this baseless allegation against Mr. Worthy,” they wrote.
While Worthy is said to have photographic evidence, he declined to press charges as he believed an investigation by the authorities would clear his name.
It appears the player is off the hook for now, with Chiefs Kingdom breathing a collective sigh of relief.
