‘The Voice’ Fans Aren’t Holding Back Their Thoughts After Learning Surprise Simone Biles News
The 11-time Olympic gold medalist is joining Snoop Dogg in the Playoffs, and reactions are mixed.
In an unexpected twist of events, The Voice is adding an Olympian to its family.
Season 26 is getting into the home stretch, and the Playoff rounds are the last stage before the live shows. Folks already watched contestants on Gwen Stefani‘s team get advice from mgk, and now it’s time for Snoop Dogg to take his artists into the Playoff round. Well, he’s bringing in the big guns to help give some coaching: none other than 11-time Olympic gold medalist Simone Biles. According to an announcement on Instagram, she’ll be joining Snoop to help his contestants shine while vying for a chance to continue on in the competition.
“Talent, poise and 11 Olympic gold medals! 🥇,” read the caption on November 21. “Welcome Simone Biles to #TheVoice as Team Snoop’s Playoff Advisor MONDAY 8/7c on @nbc.”
When fans learned about Simone’s unexpected TV news, most were really excited to see her on TV. But the reveal did bring about a bit of confusion as well, since she’s not someone who usually works in the music industry.
“Love her! But she isn’t a singer :/,” one person wrote in the comments. “I’m confused??? She is not a singer,” another agreed. “Does she have music experience that I somehow don’t know about? 😅,” a different follower inquired.
Even though she doesn’t necessarily have experience working in music, some fans did pick up on how she could be a great advisor on The Voice.
“She’s probably his team’s mentor from a standpoint of overcoming adversity and remaining competitive but still having an overall positive attitude,” one person noted. “She can help with stage presence and confidence!” another theorized. “I was expecting someone in the music industry but she can actually give great advice for being stage ready etc. I’m intrigued to see how it goes,” a different person penned.
As fans know, Simone and Snoop got to know each other very well during the 2024 Paris Olympics. He was there as a commentator for NBC, while she was part of the Team USA women’s gymnastics team. While at the competition, she won four medals (three gold, one silver), including the coveted all-around title.

Even though this seems like an unlikely choice, we’re definitely tuning in to see how Simone (and Snoop) can help the next round of contestants!
