[EMOTIONAL] Watch this Memphis native bring two legend of The Voice to tears

Watch this Memphis native bring Snoop Dogg and Reba McEntire to tears on ‘The Voice’

Memphis native Jeremy Beloate will continue on Season 26 of NBC’s “The Voice” thanks to rap legend Snoop Dogg.

During Monday night’s Playoffs round, Beloate was Snoop Dogg’s first choice to compete on his team as part of the Live Shows portion of the competition.

The Bluff City-born aspiring Broadway performer wowed the judges with his rendition of “The Impossible Dream (My Quest),” by Josh Groban. His soaring delivery of the song moved the celebrity judges to tears.

Country great Reba McEntire was visibly emotional and told Beloate that she hadn’t “been that touched listening to anybody sing until you. You have got a voice that really penetrated my heart. It really got me. I can see you on Broadway. I want to come see you when you’re there.”

Snoop Dogg — who previously stole Beloate for his team from fellow coach Michael Bublé — also was deeply affected by the performance.

“I’m over here shedding tears of joy, man,” Snoop told Beloate. “You made me feel like I was sitting at a real Broadway play. I’m crying and I don’t care because my seat next to me (Reba), she’s crying. So I guess it’s OK to cry.”

Snoop Dogg added that Beloate was “a blessing in disguise. I’m so thankful to have you on my team and I’m thankful to be able to hear you sing. Thank you, brother.”

In post-performance interview Snoop Dogg added that Beloate was “a superstar. This is a guy who has everything in his toolbox with a backup toolbox. Vocally, I feel he is strong enough to win’The Voice.'”

Memphis native Jeremy Beloate is competing on Season 26 of NBC’s “The Voice.”

Raised in Bartlett, Beloate was a student at Ellendale Elementary and Appling Middle School. He eventually moved to Germantown and attended Briarcrest, where he was part of the school’s One Voice singing group, which competed on the TV series “America’s Got Talent.” Beloate has performed locally in productions at Theatre Memphis and Playhouse on the Square, as well as appeared at the Mid-South Fair.

After attending college, Beloate moved to New York City where he has been working and recently landed a lead role in a new musical from “American Idol” alum and YouTube star Todrick Hall.

Beloate will continue on as part of the final Live Shows stage of the “The Voice,” which begins Dec. 2.

“Jeremy will be great in the Live Shows because he’s a natural-born live performer,” Snoop Dogg said. “He knows how to control his voice and his movements on stage, and he proved it with his performance tonight. He is at the pinnacle. He was the most amazing singer that sang on this ‘Voice’ stage for Season 26.”
