Wheel of Fortune fans claim the new season is ‘hard to watch’ due to changes
Wheel of Fortune fans are not happy with the new season and are fuming about certain changes.

Underneath, they wrote: “I’ve noticed that they are speeding the show up significantly with rapid fire jump cuts and it’s honestly hard to watch. They do this on the new version of Password too.
“On Password they will NOT hold a shot for more than 3 seconds before cutting to something else. It’s hard to get used to and it’s almost making me anxious.”
In the comments section, one person agreed: “Absolutely. They also don’t show the puzzle long enough for me to play along at home.”
Another pointed out: “This is a symptom from internet video culture. It absolutely sucks. The jump cut was always meant to be a last resort, then was a stylistic choice… and then when youtube came along, young people didn’t know anything about editing and it just took over.”
They added: “I’ve seen it start bleeding into regular TV and I hope it stops. We need to keep bringing attention to it. Shots need to be held longer, and for god’s sake, stop editing out natural pauses as people speak!
“Sorry, you just hit on one of my pet peeves. It’s even in podcasts now, where they edit out EVERY PAUSE and think an audio of constant speech is okay. It’s baffling.”
A third added: “I’m not sure why they have made so many formatting changes. I don’t mind all of them, and I appreciate updating things every now and then, but maybe they should have gradually ushered in changes some time other than when they’re also introducing a new host.”
A few days into Season 42, fans had several complaints, especially centered on the new set.
Starting a discussion on the subject on Reddit one disgruntled viewer asked: “Does anyone besides me feel like the entire new WoF is just over the top?”
They gave more details on their complaint adding: “From the set, to the contestants outfits, and even the contestants’ behavior. Especially the male contestant tonight. To me, it’s almost like they are actors. It feels unnaturally ‘extra.'”
Other fans of the show then joined the debate, with one agreeeing: “Yes for sure.”
They continued: “I was afraid this would happen after Pat retired. Wheel of Fortune is following the trend of overproduction and fake emotion.
“Tonight’s episode especially, you feel dizzy and overwhelmed from all the cuts and noises from contestants. You can barely follow the puzzle.”
The social media user concluded: “Maybe the ratings don’t support this, but I’ve always preferred authentic emotions. You don’t want snoozefest contestants, but authenticity is nice.”
However, it appeared these changes paid off as the show saw a significant boost in the major TV markets, delivering a 4.62 household rating, according to early data. This means that Wheel of Fortune ratings have soared up by 57% from last year’s premiere, which saw a 2.94 household rating in the same 44 overnight markets.
