When you’re a celebrity, most people remember their interactions with you, no matter how long ago or how brief. If I were that celebrity, I’d sure as hell would hope that the interaction was a positive one. But, as Drew Carey found out on Friday’s episode of The Price Is Right, your mistakes can come back to haunt you, too.

In an episode where all the contestants were first responders, Regina Smith, who is a collision investigator for the LAPD, was called to “come on down!” to Bidders’ Row, and she eventually made it to the stage.

This is where Carey, bless his heart, admitted that, during the conversations he has with the audience during the commercial break, he found out that he had met Smith before.

He let Smith explain it: she wrote Carey a traffic ticket years ago for missing a stop sign as he was driving through the Hollywood Hills.

After saying to Smith that he just didn’t come to a complete stop, she blew his cover by saying while laughing, “No, you ran the stop sign… in your red Mini Cooper!” Suffice to say, she remembers the encounter very well.

Drew deadpans to the camera, “I’ve never seen this woman in my life!” but takes the coincidence in good fun and goes on with the pricing game that Regina won the opportunity to play.

It makes us wonder if Regina revealed this encounter online to the contestant coordinators before the show and that cinched her place on Bidder’s Row. Either way, it gave Drew a somewhat unpleasant surprise, which is always good daytime TV, isn’t it?
