Glynn Turman has had a lot of iconic roles throughout his career. He surprised fans when he became a model for Beyoncé and has now opened up about the shoot
Beyoncé has collaborated with a lot of famous people over the years and even managed to get The Wire star Glynn Turman to join one of her modeling campaigns.
The Ivy Park Rodeo photoshoot has gone down as one of Beyoncé’s most iconic campaigns and saw Glynn join forces with his granddaughter Melinda Siegel. The collection was inspired by black cowboys and cowgirls, and Glynn has now opened up about how he got involved.
Speaking exclusively to The Mirror US, he said: “Well the Carter Family and my family, we’re close and she actually asked me if I would mind. Well, what it was was I have horses and I have a small ranch and we were vacationing together. She and I and my wife and her husband and the families.

“At dinner one evening she was saying that she was disgruntled because she hadn’t finished her campaign for this ad the way she wanted to. And she needed a horse and she needed a young girl to ride and model some of the clothing.”
Glynn then instantly thought of his granddaughter as he explained she used to be a model before becoming a mother. He joked: “But I said, ‘She might come out of retirement for you, Beyoncé’.”
Glynn then also offered up the use of his ranch and horses for the photoshoot. He explained: “And so she took me up on it. And the next thing I knew there was a barrage of trucks and cameras and everything rolling into the driveway.

“And her mother, Tina, whose a dear friend and my wife’s bestie, she was at the helm of this brigade of people and she coerced me into slipping on one of the one of the items, this denim jumpsuit. And I ended up being the model and the poster boy for Beyoncé’s Ivy Park catalog.”
Glynn described the experience as “cool” and said he loved the chance to be able to team up with his granddaughter. He said: “Oh, we had a great time. We had a great time.
“She had a ball and she played it to the hilt, you know, she had a great time. And we often laugh about the whole thing.”
