Deion Sanders is all ears to his son Shedeur Sanders’ NFL draft but from a distance.
In a recent interview with Skip Bayless, Deion clarified that he would not influence which NFL team drafts his son. While acknowledging that Shedeur has a preferred destination, Coach Prime expressed that he is open to any team in the top 10 that shows interest in his son as a quarterback.
Deion also noted that he knows his son’s feelings regarding potential teams. During his conversation with Bayless, Sanders Sr. named five of his son’s most probable landing spots.
“Shedeur has told me, he’s talked to me intently about all the visits he’s had with all the teams. So I know where his heart is. I know where he wants to go,” Deion said. “If it’s New York, it’s New York. If it’s Tennessee, if it’s Cleveland, if it’s still the Raiders, if it’s New Orleans, if it’s any of those teams that are seeking a quarterback, I’m happy with it. Because I know what he’s gonna do to the organization.”
When discussing the possibility of Shedeur falling to the Dallas Cowboys at pick number 12, Deion opted for a mid-ground. However, he hinted at his desire for Shedeur and his brother Shilo to be selected together.
Despite some negative comments received about Shedeur during the NFL Combine, Deion shared that he has had honest discussions with the coach of a team that interviewed Shedeur and received positive feedback.
He dismissed speculation that he would try to direct Shedeur to a favored team.

Deion Sanders Will Join Dallas Cowboys As Head Coach But Under One Condition
Deion Sanders clarified his stance on taking on the head coaching position of the Dallas Cowboys and set up a condition. According to him, he would consider such an opportunity only if he could guarantee the chance to coach his sons, Shedeur and Shilo Sanders.
During an appearance on The Skip Bayless Show, Sanders let his preferences known.
“The only way I would have done it, to be honest with you, is I knew, guaranteed, I had an opportunity to coach my sons. That’s it. Because other than that, why? It didn’t make sense to me,” Deion said.

Despite the allure of coaching the iconic Dallas franchise, Sanders noted that without the opportunity to coach Shedeur and Shilo, the role didn’t make much sense for him. With Shedeur projected to be a top-five pick in the upcoming NFL Draft and the Cowboys holding the 12th overall selection, it raises questions about the feasibility of him joining the franchise.
Also, Shilo does not carry the same draft expectations as his brother. And he may not necessarily play for the Cowboys, thus complicating Sanders’ desire to coach them within the same professional team setting.
