Mor Ilderton Is the Second ‘Voice’ Contestant to Quit Season 26
Another one bites the dust. Season 26 of The Voice already lost one contestant from the competition when Tanner Frick left Michael Bublé’s team after rehearsals for the Knockouts.
And tonight, as Gwen Stefani was preparing to rehearse her team, she told Sting, who was the Mega Mentor for her team, that she had lost Mor Ilderton, who for some unnamed reason “had to go home.” That left her with Jan Dan and Sydney Sterlace, both of whom made it through to the Playoffs. Sydney as the winner, Jan as Gwen’s Save.
Parade contacted NBC but no additional information was forthcoming about the indie folk/mountain music singer’s departure from the singing competition.
We are waiting for Mor to post the reason for his departure on social media, but last week, he posted that he has a new single coming out on Nov. 22 called “Stranger,” so it’s possible that he left The Voice because he wants to do his own thing. Give it a listen on his Instagram post below.

The 20-year-old from Teays Valley, W. Va. performed Dylan Gossett’s “Coal” for his Blind Audition, getting chair turns from Michael, Snoop Dogg and Reba McEntire, but Michael had Blocked Reba so she wasn’t a choice for Dylan.
Surprisingly, Mor, who only started singing a few years ago when he picked up a guitar when he was grounded, revealed that he has only performed before friends and family, never a live audience before or in front of a microphone, which made his performance more impressive.
After all the coaches’ pitches, Mor opted to join Team Bublé.
For the Battles, Michael paired Mor against Kiara Vega in a duet of the Goo Goo Dolls’ “Iris.” Michael chose Kiara as the winner of the Battle because of her potential, but Mor didn’t go home Gwen used one of her Steals to get him on her team.
“I just had to Steal Mor,” she said. “I just got this feeling, ‘I know what to do with that guy.’ My favorite thing about Mor’s voice is it has a unique raspy tone. When you hear music out there, his voice feels like what’s happening right now in the world.”
But as earlier reported, when it came time for the 3-Way Knockouts, Mor was MIA, having chosen to leave The Voice.
Despite his passion for music, Mor went to college to pursue a biology degree. His paternal uncle and grandmother raised him since he was 2 years old, as his parents were unable to care for him. With his uncle being a Marine Corps veteran, living with him has provided Mor with structure and discipline, for which he is eternally grateful. His grandmother, uncle and aunt are all incredibly supportive of him, whether he wants to advance a career in music or biology.
In the past couple of years, Mor began sharing his songs on TikTok and even released a track, “Welcome Sign.” It recently surpassed 125,000 streams on all platforms and more than 80,000 streams on Spotify alone.
Mor is balancing his path toward a career in medicine and his ultimate dream of pursuing music full-time.
The Voice airs Monday nights at 8 p.m. ET/PT and Tuesday nights at 9 p.m. ET/PT on NBC, and streams next day on Peacock.
